I received a phone call from a man stating he worked for New York Grant Company. He told me that I qualified for a government grant in the amount of $9,200. He said it was because I paid my bills on time and didn't file for bankruptcy. Me being a dummy I thought this was a blessing cause lord knows I need the money. I told me that in the state of Florida there is a limit to the amount of money that can here. He then told me that in order to receive the grant I would have to pay a fee to release the money. Never did he ask me for my banking information but I stupidly told him that I wanted it direct deposited to my account. The fee was $180.00 and the fee would be refunded in the grant. I sent the money to Yevette Stone in Tucson Arizona. Once I did this Eric Johnson kept calling my phone saying the federal reserve bank has released the money but I would have to pay $695.00 because I never received this much money before. I refuses and then he said it would only be $200. I got upset and asked if there was a number I could call for the federal reserve bank. I asked him to text it to me because I was at work. Eric then said he would call me back tomorrow because their office was about to close. Now I'm out $180 and my girl broke up with mW because I pawned her smart TV to get the $180.00 thinking I could go get the TV right out the pawn shop once I get the money. She hates the fact I didn't listen to her. Even though she tried to warn me. What is it going to take to stop this from hapening to as anyone else and most importantly I want my money and my girl back.

Identity Theft: Someone is falsely using our company's name

AUTHOR: Ann Kayman - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 02, 2015

As owner and CEO of the New York Grant Company, I wish to report that someone unrelated to us and unauthorized by us is apparently using our company's good name and address to commit grant fraud and take innocent people's money.  WE AT THE NEW YORK GRANT COMPANY ARE NOT PARTIES TO THIS FRAUD AND HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE FBI, STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL, AND MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE.  If anyone contacts you using our name or address at 29 Broadway in New York City and offering you some kind of "grant" in exchange for a "processing fee" of $180 or otherwise, please feel free to contact us directly and DO NOT GIVE THE CALLER ANY MONEY, CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, OR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION OF ANY KIND.  It has been reported that someone using the name "ERIC JOHNSON" is using our company's name without our permission, and one of the phone numbers he uses has been reported as a form of Internet "'phishing."  ERIC JOHNSON DOES NOT WORK AT THE NEW YORK GRANT COMPANY, and WE DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON.  If anyone using that name calls you and says he works for us, he IS LYING.  And please, by all means, DO NOT give such a person your money or information.  If you believe that you have been the victim of this fraud, or if you have any information about this fraud, please feel free to contact us directly so that we may include it in our report to the authorities.  We can be reached at 212-227-8283 or at info@nygrants.com.  We are an award-winning company rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau, and we take this matter very seriously and are deeply troubled that someone is using our company's good name to commit fraud.  IT IS NOT US.
