Well first of all DON'T work for NFI Industries as a Truck Driver!

I worked for the company for 3 months. In that time, I spent most of my time in the repair shop or trying to sleep in a 100 degree truck because their APU systems dont work and the trucks don't idle.

Most of our runs were at night so you are attempting to get proper rest in a hot truck. They will tell you, we will get you a hotel room. Well that just dont work when you are waiting at a shipper for a backhaul and the EOB tells you that you are out of legal hours to run. I have a better idea, repair your equipment. But you need the job so you put up with it as long as you can.

You write the trucks and trailers up until your fingers bleed and nothing gets repaired PROPERLY. Now on top of all this, you get no break down pay while you sit and wait on repairs. So you go up the chain of command all the way to the head of maintenance and the head of safety because you are sick of getting no rest in the filthy hot truck and you are tired of breathing exhaust fumes.

Of course, you might as well be talking to a squirrel in a tree because they could care less.
Now you have had enough, you come into the Johnstown NY terminal after completing your last run, with a sore throat from breathing all the garbage. Oh,and dont forget a dispatcher calling drivers a warm body behind the wheel right before you leave out.

You walk up and tell dispatch you are done! You have had enough of every time the trucks are screwed up all you hear from them is "thats all we've got".  So now you hand dispatch your paperwork and keys and leave. Low and behold, you get a copy of your DAC report. Oh and guess what? They put "NO SHOW" on your DAC. Now you are the professional, and you call NFI to inform them, you did complete your last run and did tell them you quit and that they made a mistake. However, after a little
discussion, the HR person you talk to informs you that they are going to now change it to "Job Abandonment". When you ask why they are doing this, this HR person informs you, and I quote, "safety can put whatever they want on a drivers DAC".
YES, she said those EXACT words!

But this is how trucking companies screw drivers when you don't want to work for them anymore, they falsify information and screw up your DAC report. I have a friend who works there now, and nothing has changed. He is scared to leave because the
way they screwed me. Well, if this sounds like fun to you, by all means, go to work and drive for NFI!
