they underestimated my bill for 7 months then came out to read my meter and charged the current $1.17 per therm used indicating i used over 660 therms in the last month and a half totalling $820.00. my furnace has yet to come on during this period, and the cost per therm before the rise in cost was .60 an overcharge of 400 dollars. they said they will come out to reread the meter but meter reading was right, and i told them thier accounting was wrong...made complaint with icc (illinios commerce commision) and they are looking into it, wow its not even winter yet, wait til the bills start coming in for thier customers, they said it would be a 50 percent hike seems more like 100 percent, i am sure my bill will be adjusted but look out and check your bill as they are charging the current rate for gas used 6 months ago.

and now nicor says my meter is defective, first it works ok when i owe them 800 bucks but when my amount of therms used goes down to less than 2 a day they want to test and replace my current meter. by the way my gas bill between 11/14 and 12/20 will be about 100 dollars but my electric bill shot up to 200, if i went with all gas for heating it would have been close to 300 alone and my electric bill is alway around 100 bucks, so far this year i have saved 80 bucks on at least one bill. multiply that by the 4 mo. of cold days nov-march, i should save about 340 buck at least.

I left work early on friday to be sure i was home at 4 pm like the customer service rep ask. They did not show up!!!! when i called they said "oh we are sorry"..... lost time and wages thanks a lot nicor, i guess when you are a utility, you dont have to keep appointments... I think i will do the same to them when they come out next time.....or just not answer the door or phone for them, and never pay a gas bill again lol
