Nina Gray Dental Inc scamming patients with unnecessary dental charges and false diagnosis North Hollywood California

On 3/3/08 I visited the dental office of Nina Gray for a regular cleaning. I had x-rays taken, the dentist said "you are blessed with great teeth, they look very healthy....you have tartar build up but that is to be expected." She leaves and a office person comes in to go over "charges". Something I was not expecting since I was covered under insurance. However, they infomred me it would be $380.00 for the cleaning because they had to do an "irrigation". They refused to clean my teeth unless I had this procedure done.

I got up and walked out. I called my insurance company and was told they can not mandate an "irrigation" so they called the dentist to follow up. The dentist, to protect herself and her actions, lied and told my insurance that I had deep pockets and a risk of gum disease therfore requiring the irrigation. This was never disclosed to me in the visit. On the contrary, she only mentioned how healthy and good my teeth are. I have never had any problems with my gums and have always had extremely healthy checkups and cleanings.

Now, the dental office will not provide a copy of my xrays and file for me to review. In addition, the dentist will not return any of my calls and I have let several messages.

The saddest thing of all is the office was filled with hispanic spanish-speaking that may not understand all the costs and charges and whther insurance covers it or not. These individuals are being taken advantage of by Nina Gray and her dental office. This dentist should be investigated for her charges and the patients should be protected.

I have filed a grievance report with my insurance and have an appointment with a new dentist. However, I am sure there are many other victims in this story.
