The company advertised for sales representatives in a craigslist advertisement. I responded to an ad by sending my resume then calling. Lawrence, a gentleman in the Loveland office contacted me and informed me that my information was received and kind of went through a short phone interview with me. He told me of his colleague Mike and told me to fill out the new hire forms as they are interested. Upon following those directions, a couple days later Mike contacted me and advise on us moving forward. It was the holiday weekend and he ensured that he will contact me Monday so I can drive to Loveland to meet, train, and get the first sales job to orchestrate. After the holiday there was so much back and forth and abnormal business practices, but finally they gave me a sales job to go to Nebraska, and told me to come in Wednesday July 8, 2015. Well, Mike calls Tuesday evening and gives me some run around about some personal issues he has, have come up. He stated he will contact me Thursday morning. Well, no Mike Thursday morning, afternoon, or evening. I called several times. Then on Friday I get an email that they are interviewing other candidates. In complete shocked I called the gentleman that sent me the email. I stated I had already been hired and given my first sales job. This is highly unethical and bad business practice all around. I turned down other opportunity due to this position, only to come up with nothing. This as jeporadize my complete financial income. This is not right and something should and needs to be done.

Clarification on Issue

AUTHOR: Magic Money, LLC - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 14, 2015

I have worked for North American Directory for many years and find their business practices to be fair and very ethical.  They have a great hiring process and spend ample time reviewing applicants and getting the appropriate information before making a hiring decision. After reviewing this post, I reached out to the partners of the company and from my understanding, still have the individual who posted this complaint as a potential new hire. The company just needs to do their due diligence with other applications before offering this individual a position.  I find it very responsible for any company to review all applicants before making the right hiring decison for the individual as well as the company.
