The Grand Financial Group, International Claims Department, sent us a check for $1950.00 drawn on the account of Miriani & Associates, Ltd., through the Harris Bank Naperville (Naperville, IL 60563-3188). Mrs. Ann Gilbert signed the letter accompanying the check and told us to call Mrs. Gloria Adam at 1/905-598-5210.
The check is to be used to pay the "$1500" "applicable Government Taxes" and they would then send us a final lump sum check of "$48.,050" Yes the number was actually typed that way, with a period and comma after the 48.
This sounds like Check Kiting to me.
