North Shore Agency, NSA Sending me a collection letter for a subscription I didn't subscribe to. Westbury New York

This company has sent me a letter saying that they are a collection company who's business is to collect but that they would rather just have me pay and let me receive the magazines.

Backpacker Magazine offered me a trial issue of their magazine and if I wanted to subscribe, I was to pay the pre-determined amount. I decided I didn't want to subscribe and hence, did not pay for the subscription. I never received any more issues. Just the one "trial issue".

Now I've received this letter from NSA and because it says they are a collection company that would imply to me that if I don't pay them, they will report it to the credit reporting agencies which would harm my credit. I made no agreement with Backpacker Magazine to pay for a subscription so how can I owe them anything?

I tried to call the number on the letter from NSA but I could not reach a human and when I selected the no pay option, I was redirected to an "invalid mailbox". This business is SHADY! I hope someone gives them what they deserve.
