Northland Group is a bunch of crooks & scam artists. Do not send these people money. In May 2012 they sent me a letter offering to settle a debt my daughter had for $356.94. In return they were to send a letter confirming the account had been resolved.  We sent in the money and not only did we not get a letter stating the acount had been resolved but we discovered they never paid the creditor or settle the debt.  Northland Group stole our money! Now we have orther debt collectors trying to collect on the same debt we paid Northland group to settle.

AUTHOR: why not pay your bills and stop whi - (United States of America)

More than likely you waited to long to pay and before you did the account was pulled from their office, in which case they would forward your pymnt to the owner of the account, all you have to do is save the bank statement that shows your payment and show it to the original creditor and they will credit your account and close it out if you paid the settlement or balance in full that is, If you just made a payment to reduce the balance you will get credit on your account but it will still be an open item for collection agencies.
