Christian, the founder and "CEO" of Northwest Boxer rescue uses the rescue's money for his own personal finances.  He buys his own dogs' food from this account, takes friends on "business" dinners/lunches on the rescue's dime, and cares more about making profits off dogs than the long term well being of the boxers.  He takes dogs on personal feelings, not need.  He scans craigslist looking for boxers.  At one time, he said he refused to rescue other breeds...except NOW he is rescuing bulldogs...only because he likes them...

One of his own dogs was PURCHASED as a puppy from a BREEDER...the very people he claims to be fighting against.  He says this was a "rescue"...not true if you pay full price for a purebred PUPPY from a breeder.  If this was a rescue why did you pay for the puppy?  Why didn't the littermates come with?  Sure...

Christian routinely uses and abuses his foster homes, requiring no screening or training for foster homes.  He simply places dogs in any foster that shows interest.  I don't doubt that his foster home turnover rate is astronomical.  He frequently places numerous dogs into the same foster home, sometimes dogs who don't get along with each other, or resident dogs or other animals...He usually begs the foster home to take the dogs then become agitated with them when they have problems with the dogs or can't handle them.

This rescue has had numerous returned dogs...a fact that Christian hides from the public.  He offers no refunds on dogs returned due to misinformation on the part of the rescue or problems within the adoptive family.  He makes money 2 or 3 times on the same dog before finding a home that works for it.  He doesn't believe in "trials"...saying that a picture and description are enough to tell if the dog is right for your home.  Not true.  Most times, descriptions are written by foster homes who have no previous dog experience other than family dogs.  No formal testing is done.  Christian has the fosters write down if they walked the dog by a cat, or the dog saw another dog on a walk...if the dog didn't break the leash or maul someone or something...they're considered cat or dog or child safe.

Christian's own dogs are menaces...a disgrace to the breed.  They lunge at anyone walking by his fence, jump onto anyone entering his house.  The dog he has had since a puppy (from the breeder) growls at anyone he doesn't know and routinely fights with the other dogs Chris owns.

Christian's "mentor" is a boxer breeder...who taught him all he "knows"...maybe he should take another couple lessons from her before he gets himself or his foster homes seriously injured.  NUmerous foster dogs have bitten children in foster homes or attacked family dogs...CHristian sweeps all of this under the rug.

Ask around, you'll find many foster homes that have dropped out of working for this rescue.  Christian's high and mighty attitude and fake behavior knowledge drive many away from fostering, adopting or recommending this rescue.  Ask if they are true 501 c 3 non-profit...I'll bet the answer is "we're working on it...soon!)....right.

Beware. I fostered for this organization for over a year and stuck with it only for the dogs.  Nothing beats a boxer...but Christian needs a wake up call.  You are not the boxer God...eat some humble pie, dude.

I am a volunteer with NWBR and I can tell you that I was required to pass a home visit, read and sign a manual, my vet was checked, they met my dogs.. this is a HORRIBLE REPORT and Christian has dedicated life to saving Boxers!  The idea that anyone would slander this organization that I have seen literally day and night dedication to rescuing boxer is a travesty.  Please do not believe this awful report.  It was clearly written by someone with a personal grudge and not based on facts.

When a dog is surrendered, we do an intake and ensure the dog is not human aggressive.  A foster home is matched on the dogs needs.  A foster cannot adopt their first foster and dogs are kept in foster homes long enough to evaluate behavior so the potentail adoptor has all the information.  Dogs can be returned because sometimes they are not a good match and it is usually the humans fault - not the dog.

Senior dogs do not have an adoption fee although they are often our most expensive.  Its about placing the dog.

Adoptors are screened.  Dogs are vetted; surgeries are done when needed,  This isnt free.  The adoption fees and fundraising goes to help and save dogs.  A Lot of dogs.

I have personally been counciled by Christian and it is always about respecting individuals and saving the dog - the best interest of the animal.  It is never about money.

I have been working with rescue groups for over 10 years and I can tell you that NWBR is one of the most organized and dedicated groups I have ever had the pleasure to work with.  I am proud to be a part of it and I hope this article will not send people away - dogs could die because of the slander and that is a shame.  It is about the dogs.
