As an Screening Manager (SM) for Norvergence, I was treated both as an exempt, and non-exempt employee...while I was told I was an salaried employee, I had my base pay continually docked for reasons that were never entirely clear...

As I understand the law to be, if you are exempt, then if you work 1 hour, or 100 hours, your base pay is not supposed to be docked...well, by virtue of docking your pay for less than 100% of the feedback forms (1 form per appointment) you are require to turn in each week, NorV violated employment laws...

Additionally, when I requested what the problem was with my feedback forms, I was never given an answer, or opportunity to correct the problem before they took my money!

This, in conjunction with the continual 50% or more deduction of my commissions, left me with a very sour taste...not unlike everyone that goes through NorV training, I found out about all of this when I got to my home market office...well after the fact...

On top of all this, the treatment I received from my local management, and from Norv HQ was demoralizing and humiliating...time an time again NorV would increase quotas, change business rules, and otherwise create an environment that proves to have placed unattainable goals...this resulted in being unable to make the kind of money that SMs were told they could make...it's called stacking the deck!

I'm currently in the middle of negotiating my exit compensation, and it is as unpleasant an experience as it was to work for NorV...

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

This is what I think ..I got everything I was expecting to get when I left the company

AUTHOR: Fred - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 18, 2004

Well Amy, as it turned out for me, I got everything I was expecting to get when I left the company...I got vaca pay, and all the commissions on the deals that I had closed, shipped, & funded...my last day was March 18, 2004...I got out when the gettin was good...I knew for many months that the Norvergence bubble would burst...too many signs where in place for any person with average intelligence should have seen...you know, the horrible customer support, no investment in employess (no 401K, low reimbursements for expenses, firing of the inside sales group, ang the general lousy treatment of SMs)...the retraction I submitted, was part of the deal I made with DSL...I had not been presented with any exit forms to sign by my crappy MVP (who by the way is Gordon (duh) Thomas - a guy who couldn't sell s**t to a farmer) before I published my initial remarks...any way, I left with my dignity, sanity, and most of all, with my money...what Norvergence did to the customers, and employees should be criminal...the Sleezano's should be in jail right now, but they live in the other America John Edwards talks about...you know, the one where the rich & famous get to do what they want and then buy their way out of it...the rest of us, live in a world when we are bad to other people, it is severely frowned upon, and you are cast out...you go to jail for stealing from people...oh well, it is high time everyone moves one and takes the hard lesson with them...I wish you well Amy...

#2 Consumer Comment

So what do you think now Fred?

AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 16, 2004

After the Norvergence scam hit the fan, I went back to see what was in the system before Norv went bankrupt, after the Salzano scum managed to hide the millions stolen from the customers, suppliers, employees etc.

So Fred - how much of your labor did the Salzanos steal from you? Four weeks plus the commisions that got "deducted"?

Your "Update" looks forced and scripted - just like the Norv sales pitch. How bad did they put the screws on you for posting negative info in a public forum? Let us know! They can't hurt you now (maybe!!).

Did you as a Norvergence SM screw customers til the bitter end on 6/30 and think you were going to get paid (ha ha) the big money commisions off the leases? The leases you scammed customers for all got funded but did you see any of the last few weeks commisions? Where's the money? It looks like you recognized the "snake" in March but still got seduced and put it back inside your jacket. You knew Norvergence was a snake when you wrote the intitial comment. And you came back for more...

What goes around comes around. We customers may be "stupid" in falling for the Norvergence SM's lies, but we are hard working people who give our customers honest value. May you find another company similar to Norvergence to sell your labor (and soul). At least 10,000 of us will be wise to the scam.

Misunderstanding cleared up!

AUTHOR: Fred - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 29, 2004

As it turns out, I was far too quick to cast judgement against Norvergence...I was under the impression that they were not going to compensate me for my commissions and vaca time...well, they are...

It appears that I was not doing a good job of articulating what I was seeking...once we on th same sheet of music, we were able to clear things up in no time...

I'm now confindent that Norvergence is going to take care of me, and pay me what we both believe I am do to be paid
