NV Energy smart meter installed and being charged over 3 times the kw then years past reno nevada
NV Energy installed the Smart Meter in January this year. We live in a large community and are in a fixed unit. For almost 2 yesrs our power bill was pretty consistent in monthly charges whether it be winter or summer.
As of the first day of installation of the Smart Meter our kw usage has tripled according to NV Energy. Living in a fixed unit it is not physically possible to more then triple our usage. As we can not add anything major to our unit.
I have complained several times and been told the most outrageous answers to why this is happening. Example: the Smart Meter is more sensitive and will pick up a clock plugged in! They supposedly changed out the meter for a new one and when the technician came to let us know he said our meter was not registering any usage at all. Not possible as we have the refrigerator and range plugged in at all times.
Just got my new bill and the kw usage has gone up even more so now we are "according to NV Energy" using almost 4 times kw tusage from last year. Again not possible for us to use so much kw from years past. We need an investigation as I think if not NV Energy directly, then we are paying for other units power bill in our building?
