In October 2014, my current provider left Nystrom. I was guaranteed that my prescriptions would continue until I could be seen by the next available provider, which turned out to be in JANUARY. When I requested refills of my medications, as promised by Nystrom, they refused to fill them. I was instructed to quit cold-turkey three different medications that lead to my having a seizure and other severe symptoms. When I spoke to one of the nurses, Jamie, she instructed me to go to DETOX over Christmas "if I was having such a problem quitting" my medications cold-turkey. I spoke with the medical director, Dr. Uecker who had the odacity to tell me that taking my medication was the equivalent of taking a shot of alcohol (thanks *******, my Dad's an alcoholic and that could not have been a more inappropriate comment to make to a patient). Only when I told Dr. Uecker that I was taking this straight to the MN Board of Psychiatry did he finally agree to refill half of the medications that I was taking per the diagnosis and prescription of one of the providers he hired and oversaw that just happed to move away. 

I went to Nystom in seek of care, not medication. I was prescribed medication that I did not ask for and started taking them because I trusted my provider and wanted to feel better. When it came time to refill my prescriptions, I was treated like a criminal, pill-seeking drug addict. The simple fact that one of their nurses told me to go to detox, where junkies and drunks go to get clean, not medical patients changing prescriptinos, should be enough for both the medical director and the nurse to be removed from their positions immediately. I have never been treated so poorly by two people who have invested their lives in helping others - clearly they need a career change before they end up killing someone. 

Nystrom overcharged me for my copay at my last appointment there in October 2014. To this day, April 21, 2015 - I still have not been refunded that money after numerous attemps and conversations with Nystrom about having this money refunded. I was always promised that the money was being refunded, but six months later and they still can't take their greedy paws off $25 that is rightfully mine. 

Nystrom is horrible provider and I hope that no one makes that same mistake I did in seeking treatment there. You will be treated like garbage and they will show absolutely no concern for your well-being.

** As of 6/6/2015, I still have not been refunded my $25 (you'd think I was asking them for $25,000 back, not $25!). I also discovered that my medical records were significantly altered. I requested details from my insurance company, my pharmacy, and referenced several pill bottles that I had not thrown away yet in order to verify and prove that this was the case -- I was/am able to prove that they 100% doctored my medical records to cover their a**es. I contacted Nystrom with this evidence, and almost a week later someone got back to me and informed me that the medical director (Jonathan Uecker, MD) and another staff nurse/doctor have reviewed and "fixed" my record to contain the correct information regarding previous prescriptions and their amounts. It has been a non-stop fight with them for them to do what's right. I can't believe this place can legally operate in the U.S. - that just boggles my mind. 

Please, if you're reading this and you or someone you love is being treated by Nystrom & Associates - CHANGE PROVIDERS. I don't want anyone, even a complete stranger, to go through what I went through with Nystrom. Your health is worth more than they way you WILL be treated at Nystrom. 

The medical director compared one of my medications to taking a shot of alcohol when I was on the phone with him. Do you really want to be seen by a clinic where the DIRECTOR is someone that thinks drinking shots of alcohol is just as safe as taking medication prescribed to you by someone with years of experience in the field? NO ONE deserves to be treated like that. 

Everything I've put in my report is the full and honest truth - no exagerations, nothing is being left out, and the following employees at Nystrom were involved:

Jamie C.,LPN-NB (Last name not provided, ever - this is the "go to detox" source)
