OAN Services, OAN billed us through Qwest for a collect call never accepted. Claimed it was computer error. You bet. ripoff Northridge California

A charge of 6.87 appeared on my Dec. bill from my local phone company. This line is very seldom used except for internet access. I noticed it because I cancelled all long distance services several months ago & should not have any charge beyond the basic fee.

The charge was listed as originating from "OAN Services, Inc."

Under the "Long Distance" section of the billing statement under OAN's letterhead I found the charge description:

"...billed on behalf of:
Nationwide Connections, Inc.
Nov. 14 12:01PM to.... collect from ..... 6 (minutes)".

When I called the number provided for questions regarding bill I of course spoke to someone who could marginally speak English. They began to ask me questions from an exhaustive menu at which point I said "reverse this charge or I'm talking to our State Attorney General's office." This helped to cut the menu short.

At any rate, I was suspicicous and so Googled OAN services. This site was the top hit, but there's also an interesting pdf file of an FCC report where OAN is featured prominently. This stuff has got to stop. After fililng this report I plan to write my political representatives and the FCC.
