When I had medical complication during a pregnancy, I contacted my mortage company to get help.  I was told they would help me by modifying my loan.  They instucted me not to make a payment for the month until the modification papers were complete.  2 months had gone by and I had called often during this period, everytime I got to speak to someone  (who I might add did not speak good English and was very hard to understand) I was assured that I would receive the papers by e-mail soon.  Sure enough I receive papers, forclosure papers.  Then I got hit with astronomical attorney fees and even fees that they can't explain.  I've been contacting them since last year and still the research dept can not explain the type and reason for the fee.  They keep saying it was for forclosure.  I have been in a forbearance plan. I have made all the required high payments, but for some reason they say I am still on this payment plan. I can't refinance because while on this forbearance plan it shows on my credit report as 6 months late.  I faithfully made payments monthly and it does not show this.
