Paul Lisowski, owner of Oddjob Home Repair & Handyman Service, was hired for a long-term home improvement project.  When he accepted the project, he had prior work commitments with other clients - which meant he would leave my project, satisfy the needs of other clients, and then come back and resume work on my project.

Paul was captured on security cameras stealing drywall from my project (home) for use at one his other client projects.  He was terminated.  At the time of Paul's termination I had already paid him just under $4000.  He had framed in a roof-over skylight and drywalled the opening and removed an 8' x 4' 3/4" drywall bump out / framing and drywall patched that opening.  Because I had lots of pre-existing rough spots on my walls I decided to bring in a professional drywall company to finish Paul's work as well as skim coat the walls.  When they saw the drywall patch work Paul did on the skylight and the bump-out areas, they had jaw-dropping disbelief at how poorly done the work was.  They pulled out a level and put it against both surfaces and it went up and down like two kids on a seesaw (teeter totter).  You could also feel lengthwise bulges on the skylight and bump-out surfaces.  The drywall company owner said Paul was not qualified to hang drywall because the incorrect tape was used at the seams, the incorrect drywall thicknesses were used at both locations, the bump-out wall was not furred out enough and he overcompensated with joint compound.  The joint compound stood so far off from the door jamb, he said it would eventually start to chip and break away.  The drywall company owner went on to say that the skylight wasn't framed in properly; it was too low.  They had to shave it back.  In addition, Paul left lots of water damaged drywall at the skylight location.  The drywall company had to undo, i.e., tear out, everything Paul did and redo it.  I did not expect Paul to be a professional drywaller; but, since he offers the service, at minimum, I expected him to at least know what he was doing and he clearly did not.

Also, before Paul's termination, he installed a toilet, replaced five shutoff valves and hung two doors.  Two of the five shutoff valves are now leaking.  And as for one of the replaced doors, there is some "give" in the threshold when you step on it; so, I fear it isn't properly hung.  Paul also shorted my bathroom light / wiring.  Long story short, Paul ripped me off by performing work he clearly was not qualified or experienced to handle.  He cost me lots of money (his rate plus all of the rework that had to be done) due to the poor quality of his workmanship.
