On 8-15-08 a salesman came to our door from OH's Legacy. Like other reports he had some hardships in his life he was very open about sharing and we spent a long time talking to him, even ended up inviting him into our home and offering him a glass of lemonaid.
At the end we bought two magazine subscriptions, Natural Health and Organic Gardening and the total came to 93.00 after a 12.00 processing and handling charge.
We waiting on the magazines for quite a while and decided to wait and call until after December, because in red print on our receipt it read "Delivery within 120 days" and I knew that sometimes magazines could take a while to show up.
Well I've since tried to contact the company and the number on my reciept is shut off. Another number for the company that I found on other complaints on this site (219-809-2323) goes to automatic voicemail saying to fax in all complaints. Many people who have faxed in have not heard any word back.
I have also heard that the head of the company died and whether this is a scam or not they still have no right to just take people's money and not deliver on the goods. Please report if you've had similar experiences.

What a shame this is! I live in the next town over so after reading many complaints I called them with the number listed in the above post. 219-980-5732, a woman answered on the first ring "customer service" is how she answered. I said oops wrong number and hung up. The time was 11ish. Hope that helps you with a good time to get a live person. Now for a personal lesson. I am a mom, wife & expert pitt bull hahahaha....my therory on solicitors is, "Don't knock on my door if you don't know me"! I do not answer my door politely, rather who are you and why are you disturbing me? Trust me most the time it scares folks away. If they don't move quickly away I offer to move them faster. My husband has been known to head people off telling them she will BITE you. Its like this, my time is important so if you the nerve to bother me, you had better have a good reason. In this day and age its a sad fact that we have to be defensive. So folks please keep your screen doors locked, and never give these people the time of day. Its okay to not be polite to strangers. Another thing that may help is to get to know your neighbors, on our street we call each other saying...that persons with so & so. So we all have a heads up. Lastly and sadly, it is so important to keep you doors locked. There are so many scams around here where your busy with one person at front door and someone is sneeking in the back. Always be careful!
