After reviewing several companies we chose Olympus Moving and Storage because they seemed easy to work with and had a no nonsense price scheme based on volume.  Had we not checked the actual volume we might still have a positive view of the company.  It turns out at least 3 people in this small company were involved in a scam to intentionally defraud us.

David Kline of Olympus Moving and Storage provided a simple quote of $3.50 per cubic foot for a move from CT to WI.  We estimated 2000-2500 cubic feet but they indicated in multiple e-mails and phone calls that if it was less we pay less and if it was more we pay more.  They were also clear that there were no other charges.

After packing out our boxes Olympus agent Leo told us the volume was 3000 cubic feet and we would need to have cash ready on delivery for the additional amount.

Delivery was made by another company (Golan's Moving and Storage) and this truck had clear markings inside as to volume.  Our boxes were all behind the 1500 mark and were not even packed all the way up.  They would not unload until we paid so we called Olympus.  David said Leo may have made an error and he would check with him in the morning.  They would then issue us a refund.  He went on to say that we must however pay Golan now otherwise there would be additional charges to come back.  We had the driver sign a memo indicating he delivered less than 1500 cubic feet of stuff and we took pictures before the unload.  We payed the cash and the next day called Olympus.  Allen then told us there were no refunds, he felt we agreed to a fixed price by by paying the money and David was not available.  After this they stopped taking our calls.

The only reason we were prepared to pay the $10,500 was Olympus fraudulently told us the volume was 3000 cubic feet.  The only reason we payed the final cash was we were told a refund would be issued and it was the only way to get our stuff.

Total payed was $10,500 and it should have been less than half that.
