Omni Financial military loans is a predatory loan service targeted towards America's service members. They have offices outside mostly all U.S. Millitary installations. They also try and sell loans in the malls in military towns as well.

They charge 33 % percent interest plus they require every loan applicant to take out insurance to receive the loan. I am in the process of closing out my account and they are giving me a bigtime hassle. They want you to send in paperwork across the country via mail to close out the account, rather than pay it out over the phone via bank card. While this whole process is happening you are getting charged 33 % interest.

These people target young service members and its a shame. They require you to take out a direct deposit out of your pay as as well to take out the loan. The ask for a lot of personal information and when I originally took out the loan, I got spamed by other loan companies. Apparently all of these loan companies are in the same network.

I have been charged 2 weeks worth of interest at 33 % because of this mail in process.

Clarification On Which Omni Financial You Are Reading About

AUTHOR: Truthbtold - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 30, 2009

For readers of this report, I believe it is important to clarify that the Omni Financial postings you are reading on this page are referencing two different companies using the name Omni Financial, not one. There is a company with the name Omni Financial that deals with loans while the other Omni Financial company discussed on this page provides tax debt resolution services. These companies are not connected in any way with one another and should therefore not be confused as the same company.

I personally have no knowledge of the Omni Financial company that provides loans, but as an ex-employee of the Omni Financial that provides tax debt services (based in Broomfield, Colorado and Florida with a few satellite offices around the country), I can say from my first hand experience that this is not a company you want to do business with. Please take the time to read over the many postings on this site by upset ex-customers and ex-employees (and it is rare to find postings by ex-employees of a company unless there are some real problems with it) to get a full understanding of the many complaints against Omni Financial. You need to know what sort of issues you will most likely face before signing up for their services.

Excellent Service, Fast, Easy, and Relatively Cheap.

I'm not sure if the person that wrote the report just had a bad experience or if they dealt with a company using Omni's name, but my experiences with Omni Financial have been nothing less than great. I have taken out a few loans with them usually for unforeseen circumstances(car repairs, power outages causing ALL my food to go bad, etc.)and every time it's been quick and painless. The interest rates are higher than a normal credit union or banks rates but a "regular" lending source won't always give you a loan. My rates ranged from 25% when I got my first loan with very bad credit to 15% now that they have helped to rebuild my credit and I have a bit of history with them. I have credit cards with higher interest rates than that and at least Omni doesn't add any fees any time they feel like it like the credit card companies do. They do ask for a lot of information but it's all relatively common for loans such as referrals, address, unit asigned, etc. Any lending company I have ever dealt with has asked the same questions of me. As to mailing in a payoff, usually if I don't pay it off I simply stop my allotment after the final payment or call them up and get a payoff quote which is good for one month and it gets paid off and closed. Once you get the quote there is no added interest on top of it, it's already figured in to the quote. To sum it up I would recomend Omni for any service member that has no credit, bad credit, or just needs a quick and easy signature loan to get them through a bad spot.

Not true.

1. I have had 3 loans with Omni over the years. All 3 of them I was able to pay off early with no problem.

2. I was not requiered to give any more personal information to get a loan from Omni than when I got one from the DOD Community bank.

3. The reason I took a loan from Omni instead of the DOD Community bank was Omni can do it in 24 hours, at the DOD Community it took 3 weeks.

4. I paid 24% because of my credit rating.
If you are a bad risk then you might have to pay more than I did.

5. I did not want there life or disability insurance so I did not have to pay for it.

6. Omni did not make me use an allotment (What I think it was that you were trying to say) but it is the simplest choice for myself as for most military members. I do not know what your MOS is but I am not in Garrison much. I do the same thing for my car insurance also.

Dear Christian in Jacksonville, North Carolina U.S.A.

You sound like you are mad at yourself for not asking any questions or reading your contract before you signed it. You probably aplied for the loan on the internet without talking to the friendly & helpful people that I have met. Is that the reason you are whinning & crying now on the internet also? Just because you do not know how to handle your money is not a good reason to tell other soldiers not to use Omni.
