Gevalia Seattle Coffee Company Saved by the skin of my teeth... thank you Rip-Off Report! Evanston Illinois

I had the same experience as everyone else. I ordered a sample of their coffee from a FB offer. 5 items for 5$. I looked very carefully for any sign of a 'membership' or additional cost and found none. Their website is very deceiving, it looks as though the page is finished, complete with the links at the bottem of the page...but if you scroll down much further you will see teeny,tiny writing, that, even after reading it, made little since. I received no confirmation of any kind.

One week later, my 'sample' order arrived (I tried it..tasted like stale coffee) three days later I received another package in the mail, no bill, no packing slip in the box - only a number on the outside. I immediantly started researching this company on the internet and found these complaints. It was a Saturday and my bank was closed, but I called the emergency number and canceled my card. First thing on Monday I called the company and spoke to a very rude woman who told me that I had been charged $25 for the 'sample' order and two more times $39.98 each for additional orders! I told her that I had made no agreement for a membership. She told me that she would cancel my 'membership' but that no refund would be given...PERIOD! I was furious.

I looked on my email and found that at 3a this morning, I had received two emails informing me of my shipment. I tried replying to the emails, with no luck. Oh...and get this!! The email return address was polis63_jrunwet@THINKIGNORANCE.com. LOL It's like they're rubbing it in our face that we were stupid enough to get hooked up with this scam.

Again, I called my bank to check out any fradulant charges. THANK GOD...because of Rip-Off report, I had canceled my my card just in time. I am out the $25 but not the additional $80 dollars.

In short, this company is a total scam. DON'T try out any 'free' samples...you WILL REGRET IT!
