The One Source Talent Modeling Management Agency is nothing less than a SCAM! They started off calling me CONSISTENTLY after I submitted a photo to them ONCE online... They called at least once a week for a period of 3 months! They kept telling me that I'd better hurry up and get into their office before they wouldn't accept any more "talent."

So, finally, I decided to make the drive to Troy, and they scheduled me for an "interview" (this is what I was told). However, when I arrived, there were at least 50 or 60 other confused people standing in line... They all assumed that they were going to a one-on-one interview as well! (I later discovered that they do these "open calls" searching for "talent" about 3 times a week, so there's no chance that they're EVER going to refuse "any more talent." Otherwise, they wouldn't be doing the open calls so often!)

Anyway, this lady crowds us all into a room, and gives us this whole spiel about how they work with all of these top agencies and designers, and how they only choose the BEST people, and how we had to have the whole package in order to work with their company. We all soon discovered that to be a lie!!! The truth is... they'll accept ANYBODY who will pay them the money!!! They trample on people's dreams, and make them believe that they can make it in the modeling industry, knowing FULL well that the majority of the people they accept have no chance!!!...But they don't care, as long as they can get people's money!

When I came back for my "second interview" to determine whether or not I would be signed, I did not see ONE person leave without being signed by them. Coincidence??? I think not! If a homeless paraplegic with a face full of acne, balding greasy stringy hair, and horrific body odor somehow scraped up enough money to pay them, they'd try and convince him that he could make it in the modeling industry too!!! Oh yeah, they'll tell you EXACTLY what you want to hear-- as long as you've got the cash to deal with them. You've gotta play to play, see.

They also omitted important details from their speech.. They told us that we would need to pay $395 up front. However, not until after they had already signed us, did they mention the $29.95 monthly fee!!! So... that's nearly $450 we are spending in one day, yet I quote from their website, "We know that time is money and see no need for you to waste either one of them when getting into the entertainment industry." I beg to differ! "Wasting money" is exactly what I have done with them!!

They make it seem as if you will be getting all of these modeling jobs and assignments, and that's what you're paying for... However, all they do is put a couple of pictures up on their website (which I have done on at least 7 or 8 other websites for FREE), and post casting calls that you can view on other FREE websites! So I have gotten NOTHING for my money! I could have done this for free!

I had already taken professional modeling pictures, yet they also refused to label my "portfolio" as "professional" on their website, so that I could not get any modeling jobs when clients are searching for models with professional pictures. They also would not submit me for any assignments. Instead, they tried to convince me to pay $600 MORE to have MORE pictures taken by THEIR photographer, claiming that his pictures are "more professional" than mine... which, if you actually see the pictures, is a LIE! But they refused to submit me for any modeling jobs until I would have pictures taken by their photographer for $600!

I tried to send them a message about it, and their website says they would respond in 24 hours. Well, after waiting for 3-4 days and having to send ANOTHER message to them, they finally responded to me and said that they wouldn't submit my portfolio as "professional" because my pictures were more glamour instead of high fashion. Am I missing something here?? What's with the exchange of the words "HIGH FASHION PHOTOS" and "PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS," as if the two are just interchangeable and mean the same thing????? Just because my photos are glamour does not mean they aren't professional! So, if it was the case that they needed "high fashion" shots, then that was STILL no excuse to deny my portfolio as being professional!!! If they thought a model should have "high fashion photos" SPECIFICALLY, to be submitted for jobs, then they should have the box marked "HIGH FASHION" instead of "PROFESSIONAL"!!! That way, you aren't denying other models who DO have professional photos that may NOT be high fashion-- but could be glamour, casual, etc!!!!

And this information should have been specified up FRONT, instead of continually telling me that my photos were not professional, when they WERE!! I think that's what took them so long to respond to my inquiry though-- because they didn't HAVE an actual reason to deny my portfolio from being professional! They just wanted me to believe that nobody would ever hire me, and that I couldn't get any jobs or assignments, unless and until I had pictures taken by THEIR photographer! Fortunately, I'm not that naive... I've had MORE than a few offers from other FREE websites, such as One Model Place! So I know I don't NEED those specific photos to get work!!

However, UNFORTUNATELY, I have already wasted a ridiculous amount of money on them, and have gotten NOTHING out of it!!

If I wanted to spend thousands of dollars on modeling, I could have done it ON MY OWN-- without their help! They have done NOTHING for me! And they refuse to give a refund. They don't mention anything upfront about needing professional pictures, paying a monthly "maintenance fee" (which, what they have to MAINTAIN, I have NOT a clue! All they did was put up my photos ONCE on their site... there's no need to "maintain" anything! They're not making any extra effort or wasting any extra time simply KEEPING my photos on the site!!), or not submitting us for modeling jobs if we don't have the pictures they require. However, yet again, I quote from their description paper, "Our undeniable work ethic, STRAIGHTFORWARD APPROACH, and innovative services are what have proven One Source Talent as a leader in the entertainment industry." (??????) If they honestly had've had a "straightforward approach" as they claim, I would have opted NOT to work with them!

I would have never paid them $395, knowing that it would get me NOWHERE! But I think they KNOW that, which is why they don't mention these things upfront. They'd prefer to just scam people out of their money! I even looked up "One Source Talent scam" on Google, and I see that they must be notorious for scamming their clients, and apparently even their employees!

Well, they have been VERY unprofessional in my experience... Specific quotes from papers I have received from them state, "Never be late" and "Be prompt," yet they kept me waiting for 2 hours in their lobby one day for a 20 minute appointment! (Keep in mind, I had also driven an hour and a half just to get there!) These people need to be put out of business!!!! (And to be made sure that they don't RE-APPEAR with a NEW name, which I've also heard that they may have done!) They need to realize that their scamming is wrong, and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it!
