Online Bill Pay Metevante, Online Billing Department SCAM Online Billing Pay 1-877-346-5272, Internet

I have been receiving emails and spoke to a Gail at  877-346-5272 regarding a company that claims to have made a payment for me for my online bill pay account.  I spoke to her today, they refuse to provide me with any information to prove to me that they paid this said amount. I will not be responsible nor allow any debits to my account until this unknown second payment can be verified. So I am being told I owe this money, I have spoken to this "Gail" who said they refuse to fax me any paperwork on it, and told me there is no check number nor any confirmation number. 

I am beginning to think I need to flag my account for a possible scam.  The more I read up on the internet sites about this number it is a scam and telemarketer claiming that a "payment didnt clear your account so we made the payment as a courtesy and you must pay us back" thing, well til I can verify it, it wont be happening.  My bank has never paid a bill over 20.00 when I reached my overdraft limit much more the less 750.00, so I do not believe this at all.  When you call the number it does not answer with any company name, is menu driven to get to a person and when you do all they keep saying is "So the bill pay department is just out that money now ahe"

wellll lady til you can prove your legit and until you can prove you made a payment for me then yea I guess so.  When I can call the company you tell me you paid and they have no record of it, yep Id say your pretty screwed because I am not paying you a dime without verification and information.  To refuse to send the account holder any information is just not acceptable or right, and to not have a check number or confirmation number for a transaction is a sign of a scam.
