I recently attempted to purchase some Onyx Concept body kits, and to my surprise I had some really bad experiences that I thought I should share with you all. Firstly I purchased a full Onyx kit for my Range Rover Vogue 2013, that I ordered from BMW vogue garage in Cyprus (BMW,  83 Masogis Ave. 8820). I was told it would take approximately two weeks (two weeks being the maximum), as soon as I paid the €30,000, that’s where the problems began.

It has since been 3 months; my car is still not finished, un-drivable and unavailable for collection. Its currently dismantled and lying on a dirty garage floor. After not having my car for a month, the person in charge of sorting my Onyx kit for the Range Rover offered me a Porsche Panamera (with Onyx Kit already fitted) which I had decided to purchase from Onyx Concept themselves.

I parted with a cheque for €100,000 and requested that the cheque not be cashed as of yet, nor for the car to be driven. Untill I did my final checks and sorted my finances out. The Onyx representative ignored me on both accounts. First of all he attempted to cash the cheque before the transaction was complete whilst driving around in the car supposed to be signed over into my name.

This person thought it acceptable to abandon the car at the airport and fly to the UK after thinking he had cashed the cheque into his bank! This was the final straw for me and to alleviate my concerns, I decided it was best to contact Onyx Concepts directly through the “owner and innovator” of Onyx Concepts Trevor Musgrave, and explain to him my concerns.

To my disbelief Trevor was extremely rude, obnoxious and thoroughly dishonest. Id go as far as to call them ‘thieves’ and ‘liars’.

a)      They  trashed my €130,000 Range Rover Vogue

b)      Lied about when it would be ready to push forward the sale

c)       Attempted to cash my cheque, leave the country all whilst keeping the car

This post is not to give Onyx Concepts a bad name; they have done that all by themselves. I created this post to help and warn others not to (or to at the very least be vigilant) when dealing with this ‘dodgy’, dishonest and fraudulent company who have made no effort what so ever to try and resolve or compensate me for in any way for my losses and troubles.

There are many similar companies that offer very similar products, I have always loved the way the Onyx Concepts kits look on cars, but in the future I will cut my losses and be sticking with more reputable companies who value their custom and keep their word. I would highly recommend any of the following companies as I have used them before with no issues what so ever.
