If you want to get your things caught in a legal dispute, please please sign up to use orion moving and storage. Orion charged me $1000 extra, which i had to yell to get off my account ($250 to put 10 trashbags into 10 boxes, which I was informed by sales would not happen). They subcontract through highly ineffictive third party transportation companies that will hold your things ransom. My things were held from me, no one at Orion could tell me where they were, and even the owner promised delivery only to ignore my calls when it was not accomplished. Nothing was accomplished until my father got on the phone and asked for information regarding insurance that he could pass along to his lawyer. So all young women, be advised, no one will take you seriously. My boxes showed up 44 days later (violating their own contract), broken and smashed. My family china was completely broken, and my boxes looked as though they'd been thrown out a window. I do not have a desk, as it was lost completely. They also clearly cannot add or subtract, as they charged my credit card $1000 more than they should have and did not retract it until today, when I happened to catch it on my statement.

If you hate your things, love headaches and long phone calls with people who refuse to speak to you, then Orion is your kind of place. Communication with this company becomes an epic, one-sided conversation with a brick wall.

Just a suggestion- take all your scrapbooks and memories with you- you probably won't get them back.

Trash Bags

AUTHOR: nvafadari - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 19, 2010

As a new comer to the moving industry, I asked about trash bags- I've moved myself many times and see trash bags as a suiteable means of moving my clothes ( I guess I don't throw them around, so they don't rip). I wasn't aware if it was common practice for a company to move them or not- so I asked. The sales associate, Larry Durham, informed me that it was no problem and it was up to me what I wanted to pack them in. So had I assumed this fact, I would agree in your rebuff. But silly me, I expected a sales associate to tell the truth. So no, I am not going to pay $250.00 for something that I explicitly asked about and then was lied to. Your point overall is a good one. However, I covered my bases and was a responsible consumer. I just don't find it too much to ask Orion to show some responsiblity as a vendor. Have you had experience with this company before?

Interesting

I can just see it now. The movers show up to pick up the load and here are 10 trashbags full of "stuff" that the owner wants to be moved. Trashbags???? NO mover is gonna move trashbags. "My boxes looked as if they had been thrown out a window". Imagine if the trashbags hadn't been in boxes, what they would have looked like. It's interesting that you complained that they charged or overcharged you to put your trashbags in boxes, something you could have done yourself at probably a much cheaper price, bought the boxes AND put the bags in boxes, yet now you are seeking some type of compensation for those services that you didn't want and think you were overcharged for.
