OSP Communications Fraudulent Charges to my AT&T Phone Bill Tucson Arizona

I opened my phone bill and to my supprise there was $10.88 phone call (the first and only phone call charged on my phone bill since I got number 18 months ago)

A Phone call to a phone number? ... but to a phone number with no attached phone that is only used for DSL (my internet connection). I use a digital phone service...and love it.

I called AT&T first and was told to call OSP to resolve the charge and AT&T could do nothing about it.

I tried calling OSP twice. The first call I was told that I needed to speak spanish and then they hung up and on the second call they had no record of the charge and would be unable to do anything about it. They requested that I call AT&T to get the charged removed.

I called AT&T and they explained that they could do nothing to remove the charge (they are correct they can not remove the charge). After many calls back to AT&T to make sure that each operator was telling me the same store, I finally called and filed a report with the "California Public Utilities Commission". 800-649-7570. www.cpuc.ca.gov

The agent asked me to make one more effort with AT&T and to specifically ask for the following using this terminology: Please put a "pending claim" on the charge and to perform a "recourse charge back to OSP".

When I called AT&T and asked for the Pending claim and resource charge back, I got action. AT&T made a call to OSP and they actually got through and were able to get the charges credited back.

According to the AT&T customer service rep, OSP was unable to verify who made the call, even if the call had ever been made, and better, what was the purpose of the call.
