Owen Wraxall - The Marketing Guy - Stole over $500 from me for services not rendered - Stratford, Ontario Canada

Owen Wraxall stole over $500 from me.  Do not hire him for any service.  He operates under the following banners: The Marketing Guy, Your Ideal Client and Countdown to Clients.  With each company you will be dealing with Owen Wraxall who stole over $500 from me.

Last year, I entered into a contract with Owen Wraxall and his company 'The Marketing Guy' to design a logo and a website for my company.  He responded to a posting I had made on craigslist.  After some initial consultations, I paid Owen over $500 as my initial instalment.  Since that cheque was cashed last year, I have not heard from him, in spite of dozens of emails, phone calls, registered letters, etc.  After he had my money, he disappeared, leaving me with nothing to show.  I searched his name after I realized that I had been defrauded, and saw another report on this website from another customer who had a similar experience.  I suspect there are many more victims out there. 

I was very diligent in my approach to the website design.  I checked Owen Wraxall's references, and they checked out, indicating that his referees were also in on the scam.  I laid out exactly what I wanted from Owen, and we agreed to instalment payments, based on progress.  After he received the first payment, he was gone, and has not returned my calls since then.  Unfortunately, there is no way to completely protect yourself against fraud and theft.  I have engaged a lawyer and will be suing to recover my losses plus legal fees.  I will remove this post once I receive what is owed to me. 

Do not hire Owen Wraxall to perform any service for you.  I have seen that he has changed his company name 3 times in the last year (likely to avoid other angry customers whom he has defrauded).  Do not hire: The Marketing Guy, Your Ideal Client, or Countdown to Clients. 

If you are a potential customer, please do not associate yourself with Owen Wraxall.  To validate my complaints, please contact the Better Business Bureau of the Kitchener-Waterloo area.  You can check online at http://www.bbb.org/canada/Business-Search/, just search for 'The Marketing Guy'.  He currently has 2 registered complaints against him (only one of which is mine, further evidence that there are other victims).  To clear his name, all he needs to do is respond to the complaints.  He can't do this because that would mean repaying the victims of his fraud. 

I was unfortunate to have become involved with Owen Wraxall and his related entities, but you can avoid financial loss and wasted time by picking another provider for whatever you want to hire Owen Wraxall for.  I will also update this site as Owen Wraxall continues to change the business names he operates under.
