pacific Coast Realty - Eddie real estate, rental app fee scam Loma Linda And Neighborhood California

this was a charge of 35 x 2 for back ground check for myself and spouse for a possible rental in CA. We were told and later faxed a descripion of the house and was informed that it was available for 1 year lease. After we were charged through paypal and we paid the agency, EDDIE then switched the story and said this house is no longer available for 1 yr lease. We believe because we paid this fee during our app for 1 year lease ( as we were told it was available for) and because we would not have applied if we were aware or informed it was a 3 yr only lease ..we are owed a refund. I have records of fax, e-mails from agency and its employees and witnesses who were privy to all conversation. We ARE not demanding refund because we did not get the house, we ARE asking because if they were honest and upfront about lease term we would never have even approached this house/ agency/ or applied. We have requested eddies company to cease all activity on our behalf. The owner sent us threats via e-mail all saved. We wish we had never even seen this ad.


This guy eddie who runs the show at Pacific coast realty apparently uses this scam to charge the poor students of this neighborhood and others. All he is interested in is credit app fee. At first he will fax/ e-mail or tell you about some house that is available, charge you, next day deny your app saying " owner backed out" seeking longer term lease.

When I asked him why he wasted our time with this application when we had told him we only want a one year lease. he threatened us and warned us we would never find a house ever in this area of California ever again. He sent abusive e-mails e.t.c. "Owner backed out" is an excuse he uses. He will tell you whatever you want to hear upfront, then day after he steals your money/ deposit he will say sorry, house owner isnt interested in your lease term.



He should stop charging people app fee if a certian house is not available for 1 year lease and be upfront about detials of lease term... I mean why waste a potential tenents time and money?
I have spoken to some other students around Loma linda and apparently this has happened to other students when dealing with this company.

Just be aware... there are other honest real estate agents out there...who value your time and wont con you.
