First, I'd like to say that Ripoffreport.com has been a lifesaver for us 2 days in a row now.

My boyfriend received a letter from First National Collection Bureau, Inc. stating the creditor was Palisades Collection and the original collector was AT & T and he owed $381.03 - but they would settle for $304.82 in 2 pmts. (what a savings!)

We called and they are stating that he had AT & T service in 2002. He's NEVER had phone or L.D. service with them.

They stated they don't have the phone number which is in question in their records when he called the (800) 824-6191 on the form.

We then called AT & T. I spoke with Natalie in their credit services. She said she has never heard of either collection company...nor does she recall them ever doing business with them. She looked in her computer and said she can find no history of my boyfriend - or his address - in the computer showing he had service with them. She gave me the phone number for all three maily used credit reporting services and said that we should contact each of them, find what is showing on the report for this, and dispute it.

For those who need that info:

Experion - 1-800-682-7684
Trans Union - 1-800-888-4213
Equifax - 1-800-685-1111

Now, we had his credit report pulled in November of 2007 and there was NO AT & T outstanding account on there - even though they say he has owed them since 2002.

AT & T told me to report this company to the better business bureau. I notified the collections company, (spoke to a deedra) and told them what AT & T and advised, and let them know they were being reported.
