We made a Sayulita lodging reservation through Papa's Palapas Travel, Inc. on 11/6/09.  They were listed with rentals for Sayulita, Mexico on the wedsite. We put down $900 deposit via Pay Pal. 


 After sending e-mails informing the owner, Tammy Rubio that we would arrive one day later, and seeking additional information about the rental we became suspicious of this business.  since we received no responses to our numerous  e-mails and  phone calls our family decided this was not a legitimate business.  When we called, the business phone was "full and not accepting new calls".  The phone number was even a different one. 


  It was only when we sent a cancellation e-mail  and postal letter that we received an e-mail reply. The owners stated they had been out of town, and would refund our deposit and cancel our reservation.


We were informed we would receive our deposit refund less %15. The reservation was cancelled 5 weeks before we were to arrive.  Now,it has been 6 weeks since we cancelled the reservation and we have not received the promised refund deposit. 


And, again the owners are not responding to our e-mails, phone calls or postal letters. We wish we would have read Ripoff Reports before trying to do business with this owner.

I think a copy of emails can tell the real story..

My wife and myself had to take an emergencey trip to Mexico so we took a long weekend and normally we don't work weekends anyway.

Jan 11, 2010 was on a Monday.

Since you have not responded to our 6 emails, and 3 phone calls, and since your phone number seems to have changed, and your voice mail box is allegedly full and cannot accept incoming calls for the past 3 days,  we are cancelling our  family's trip. 
 We are expecting a full refund of $900.00 US dollars. If a refund is not received within 10 days, we will contact the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and Rip Off as well as other sources.
