They picket up 2 items from me  1 50cmx50cmx50cm 18kg box, and a small 900g package

3day later i get a message from the person expecting the 18kg box, saying he had received the 900g package, I call up parcel2go, and I am asked for a description of the 18kg box, as they cannot find it,  and told they would email me to let me know when they were gona collect the 900g package from the wrong address.  next day, i get a message from the same buyer, saying that parcel2go picked up the 900g package, and delivered the 18kg package, they went without letting me know, and would of probably blamed me if the buyer wasnt in, luckily they were in to swap parcels.  a week later, i get a message from the guy expecting the 900g package telling me he had received it, and that it was broken, I got him to send it back to me,  the box was damaged, a hole in one corner as if it had been stabbed, and a lot of the bubble wrap was popped/deflated  I contact parcel2go about this, and I am told to fill in the claims form for damage,  on the claim form it says it has to submitted within 14days of dispatch, given that it had taken over 10 days to get the the correct place, thats a joke in its self, I used the live chat on their site to query this, and I am told that because the delay in delivery they will extend my deadline to 14days after delivery, I also asked if i would be able to claim the courier charge, and am told i cant, because it was a "successful delivery" dont know how they can consider a week late, and broken a success, wonder what they consider a fail.  I fill out the claim form, take pictures of the damaged box and content and send it of with 4days left of the deadline, i posted it 1st class, so it would have arrived the next day  5 days later i get a automated email about my claim saying it was declined because I missed the deadline, I sent a long email explaining what had happened, and got another canned response saying it had conveniently arrived 1day after the deadline.  Thanks to parcel2go I am down 50 as i had to refund the full amount to the buyer, and I never even go a penny from parcel2go.

parcel2go refuse claim for damaged lego parcel

AUTHOR: monkeyboy - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, December 10, 2013

I recently had a claim declined by parcel2go for a collectable Lego set that I sold and sent to Germany fully insured for the £400 for an extra £50 premium to insure it. The set was mint and brand new and sealed and was packaged with 3-4" layers of bubble wrap and a brown external box. It arrived damaged with a large hole going through the external packaging and into the item box.

The actual Lego box was also damaged with a hole and tear marks and  all creased as if sat on or squashed. Some minor small parts was also loose outside the main box within the packaging. I filed a claim and Parcel2go requested everything from proof of value and pictures of the external packaging ing and the damage to the item.

They rejected my 6 pictures of the damage to the Lego set box 3 times, I then spoke to live chat and I asked why they had rejected my pictures and they replied saying that the items packaging is not covered. I said that it has devalued the set and there is small parts coming out and without a doubt a few have been lost in transit.

My claim was then rejected and I then contacted customer support Ian Collins who said that I did not mention any missing parts when I first opened the claim. I explained that I never had any opportunity as it was only a brief live chat to open a claim and from then onwards I had no opportunity to make any details about the claim, Only options to upload photos and invoices. I also explained that I had previously mentioned parts loos and falling out when speaking to customers services when I asked why my photos had been rejected.

He accused this of being a turnaround in my claim and that also item packaging is not covered.

He then sent me an email as follows.

I am furious with PARCEL2GO and I will per sue this.

Its disgusting to say especially when I paid a premium to cover any inccodent.

They clearly just do not wish to payout or they make the claims themselves but do not pay back to the customer that has lost.

Good Afternoon

Thank you for your email.

There was no mention of the goods having parts missing until the claim was closed for packaging not being covered. The only mention of damages ever on your claim (Also included the logged LiveChats that we have) was of you stating that the box had a hole in it. Meaning that the item had lost it's collectors status:

"Clear picture of large hole and squashed packet to this collectable very rare and collectable lego that was mint and sealed. The sets are worthless if the boxes are not mint. The item was packaged with inches of bubble wrap yet the courier has been cut opened and ruined."

The claim will not be reinstated.

Kindest Regards

Hi Ian

I dispute this and request that that my claim is reopened and processed. There has been no turn around and nothing has changed. I have uploaded and explained eve thing from the start with the every means possible to give as much information as possible. This is very poor as I now have what once was a very COLLECTABLE Lego set defaced with a squashed damaged box with a large hole and missing components. The item was Mint in the original sealed box fully complete when it left my hands. I also paid extra to cover the item? There is no excuse here whatsoever and I will be perusing this further.

Good Afternoon

I am contacting you in regards to a claim for damages that you have made. After reviewing the evidence presented with higher management we will be closing the claim for the same reason it was previously, that we do not cover for damaged packaging. Your contact with us in regards to the claim is very contradictory and the sudden turn around in the claim status was only mentioned once the claim was closed. Your claim will be closed and all evidence will be filed should we require it.

Many thanks.

Kindest Regards

Ian Collins
