Hello, I have had 2 Similar things happen lately. First off we got a bill from AFNI for an account that was from 1992. My wife called them and asked for a detailed bill wich after 5 weeks has yet to arrive. we refused to pay due to bill being a charge off and from 1992. Today 9 April 2007 we recieved another bill from "park Dansan" from a Citi corp charge off in 1992. The bill is for $1879.00 but the good folks at park dansan have "Graciously" decided that $563.00 will settle this. This has been 2 attempts at collecting from debts from 15 years ago. As you may have guessed 1992 was not a good year. 19 year old army privates suprisingly dont make that much money. Any way this seems like an unfair practice and i am in the process of reporting both companys to the AG. Whatelse do i need to due about this? what can do to make the most impact? is this type of thing a common occurence? I am a Disabled Iraq veteran so i got plenty of time to write.
