park.io This company has a partnership with nic.io that enables them the right to every expired .io domain before you can register it. They then put these domains up for auction, forcing you to overbid rather than having a fair shot and registering the domain. Internet

If you are interested in registering an expired .io domain, forget about it. Park.io and nic.io have an agreement where park.io is entitled to first rights to every expired domain. This way they can put it up for auction, or cyber squat the domain. There are a few expired .io domains I have attempted to register, every single one was registered by park.io the very second the domain became available. When I reached out to park.io, who claims they "never bid on expired domains because that wouldn't be fair", they advised me they decided to keep the domain because it was too good to put up for auction. This is clearly a case of collusion, it would be nice if ICANN or IANA could step in. Both of these companies are very shady and you likely will not get a reply from support.

False information

AUTHOR: park.io Support - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 28, 2014

This report is false.  I created park.io and we do not have any agreement with nic.io for first dibs on domains.  Obviously any agreement like this would be against ICANN and nic.io would not be allowed to operate as the .io registry.

We at park.io have worked trielessly to make sure our drop catching scripts are extremely fast at getting domains as they drop out of expiration.  We are simply really good at what we do, and this makes competitors upset (and why this report was filed).

You can see from our home page (http://park.io) and from our blog that we have hundreds of happy customers.  Large, respected companies have used our services to secure the domains that they want and have been very happy with our service.

We respond very quickly to any support requests - feel free to send us an email with any questions: support@park.io
