Party City Discriminates Against Pregnant Employees Discrimination mistreated and ripped off Newbury Park, California

I began working at Party City in Aug. of 2002. I was promised 30 hrs. a week and things were fine until Nov. when I became pregnant. I was only 17 years old and my manager said that he was going to cut my hours because now that I was pregnant he didn't know if I was going to stay working there. I assured him I liked working at Party City. He cut my hours back to 4 hours a week. I was denined hours: I was totally harrased
when I did work.

I went to work the other day and I am 6 1/2 months pregnant now. While I was working register I was having
contractions and pulled a stood up to sit on the down time.

My manager said I was not allowed to sit or have any special treatment because I was pregnant. I told my manager I was having contractions and was told I needed a note from my doctor to sit down.....I called the doctor and told him what was going on and had to go to the hospital...I was in labor...they stopped
the labor and Party City now says they do not feel I am entitled to disability because of the few hours I was working. I only worked a few hours because they would not give me hours...

Anyway Party City doesn't treat their Pregnant Employees
with any respect...only discrimination...
