My husband and I hired Patriot Moving in April of 2005 while he was deployed in Iraq to move us from Jacksonville, FL to Lacey, Washington. We were told that the move would cost us $1400 and take 7-10 days to get to us. They hired Pony Xpress and then they picked up our belongings and on the 16th of April (unaware to us that we had to deal with another company!). When my 1 year daughter and fly to Washington we stayed in a hotel for one night because our shipment with everything we owned would be there the next day.

Oh no, it didnt show up for another 23 days and when it did it was a nightmare (I called daily to check on it and they would either put me on hold for 30 mintutes, hang up on me, or curse at me and then hang up on me). Not only was a brand new, still in the package $1000 mattress stolen but so were endtables, gowns, clothing and shoes, toys and my daughters crib was broken in peices. When I apid for the move, I made it clear that we were moving into a 2 story house with heavy furniture that I could not lift up stairs and they said not a problem. Well, it was. The movers wanted $40 per item to go upstairs. There were 3 bedrooms, a laundry room and a computer area, can you imagine how much that would have cost me. I said no. I figured I would see if some of the men in the neighborhood would help, since I was new and everyones husbands were deployed, I had to hire another moving company to move the things upsatirs costing me an additional $250.

Anyway, everything that they disassembled in Florida, they refused to put together here. Oh and too top it off, they said that my shipment 2000 lbs over and would cost me $1500 in cash or they wouldn't give me my belongings. After all of that they literally dumped our stuff everywhere. They stacked boxes tothe ceiling that I couldnt reach, put a brand new coffee table on my back porch and started stacking boxes on my back lawn (it rained 15 minutes after they lift). EVerything else the threw it all in the garage and on my front lawn and took off. THen came the unpacking. BOxes were missing or completely damaged. They wrote on my furniture with permanent marker (it said crate 1, 2, 3 etc.). I have filed claim after claim and nothing. I was completely stuck and drained my bank account to get funds to pay for our things all while my husband is in Iraq. I dont know what to do. All I can say is check out the shippers before you hire them. Now that I am taking the time to look, Patriot Moving and Pony Xpress are all over blacklist. Do not use them!
