We have a 2004 BMW 325xi.  It was off warranty so we purchased a warranty  for $5,000. from Paul Miller BMW 1 1/2 years ago.  It was to cover all major repairs.

We brought the car in for a "free" service clinic in July.  (In hindsight, I guess they had it to drum up business.)  They said a few rubber parts needed fixing, but no rush.  The repairs would be predetermined by the insurance company, and we would be notiified first.  We could have all or none of the repairs done at that time.

We brought the car in and while I was at work today, they contacted my husband, who is out of work on Medical Disability, and talked him into $700 of repairs not covered by the insurance!

These are repairs that were not needed right now and they did not have authorization from me, the working person in the family, to go ahead and do these repairs.  (The gas station we use for oil changes had seen the oil leak and said it was going to be $300 when they fixed it.)

The dealership took advantage of my disabled husband and went ahead with the repairs!  They said they did it at cost!  (I believe the sign there says the labor charge is $235/hour, so what is the point of saying they did it at cost?)

I will not go back.  I will find another place that will hoor this warranty, if I do not sell the car first!

You said the dealership took advantage of your disabled husband..

Are you saying he's not competent to make any decisions and they knew that?

How would the dealer know that you were the employed person and the only one authorized (by you) to make decisions?  Did you make them aware of this and they ignored you?

Does your husband know what you think of his decision making capabilities?....oh, wait, I'll bet he's painfully aware of how deficient you think he is....my sympathy to him.

This is a mental disability he has, right?  Otherwise, he should be an equal partner in the decision making.

I personally don't see the Ripoff.
