My wife bought a dress through Pay Pal. Her credit card number was on their file (part of their system requirements. Two months later we get repeated phone calls (Numerous daily) from someone claiming to be "pay pal collections, and a couple of other business names within the same conversation. This person could barely speak English. I asked to speak toa manager and it sounded like the same person to me.
I discontinued this particular phone call and my wife called pay pal. They verified her account had been paid in full and closed out. Pay pal Rep. said they do not have collection companies and through further discussion thought it was some type of Phishing scam. We gave him the phone number of the persons trying to collec and he suggested we report to Attorney general and another Report Phishing type person on the web. We did all.
The original charge fo pay pal was under $30.00. The collections co (Central Credit services is trying to collect $203.83.
The letter I rec'd states original creditor as GE Capital and the client as LVNV Funding LLC.
