I received a letter in the mail that read like this:

This is to inform you of the official release of the 2008 Promotional Sweepstakes Lottery held on JUNE 28th, 2008 in the 2nd category.

They gave me a ticket number and then the list of the winning numbers.

There was another lady who posted the exact same scam, but mine had a different publishing company, different contact number, and different name for a contact person.

The dollar amounts were the same on both letters.

I know their are people out there that might not have the resources to check on this so I wanted to make sure (after I found the other rip off letter) that I posted my experience.

I have found the the publishing company is real and also found the letter is linked to a Pacific Lottery, but when you go on the web site there is nothing mentioned about winning lottery.

I hope I have saved other people from a lot of grief and if you cash the check they send you to pay for the taxes, you will find the check is fake and you will have to pay that money back. They want you to send them money by moneygram because once they pick it up, you can not get back the money.
