Back in December of 2005, we sold several things on E-bay and ran into a problem with the postal service loosing several packages and then had to answer angry consumers.. where is our stuff, and a handful wanted refunds. Well in order to get their money back the had to file a dispute with paypal.

Every week we would receive emails from Paypal asking us to fax over proof of shipments, etc, etc. We have done this on every person whom put in a claim. Just this week I got another one for the same person. This makes 3 times I had to fax the same information to paypal.

I have gotten 1 email back from them stating that my account has been restored as of last week, this week they want the info on this person again. Does it ever stop???

I want to be able to get to the funds that are in there, but I cant, I'm sure that I will have to fax them yet again on someone else befor I can get the account unlocked.

NUMEROUS phone calls to them don't do any good either, never get a straight story out of them. It is now the end of February and still not settled with them!I am sure this is going to be an ongoing thing, I have sent them a fax stating all the info has been provided more than once, and told them to get their stuff together because I am going to consult an attorney!

Haven't heard or seen an email yet! Watch out, if your account is locked for whatever reason....GOOD LUCK getting it restored or unlocked!!!!!!!!

That's what I thought!

Robin,

We were just trying to figure out what happened that JUSTIFIED PayPal locking your account.

If you had PROPERLY mailed the items, there would not have been a problem.

AND, being busy is no excuse. I stand right there until they scan mine. They do it at the same time they take your money. It takes less than 1 second.

I have mailed hundreds of packages in my life and not one has come up missing.

The fact is, you tried saving 55 cents and it cost you big bucks. So how much did you actually save?

I already know you were shipping by the cheapest method when you said parcel post!

You get what you pay for!

My husband printed out the shipping labels from home- thats how we were doing it, so it automatically got taken out of our checking account, whichever way that is, not sure if it was parcel post or what, but anyhow, WE DID EAT THE LOSS! After seeing complaints of non-receipt, I repackaged the goods AND PHYSICALLY brought them to the post office and then INSURED them for the value WITH delivery confirmation.
Why do you guys feel the need to think that WE did something wrong?? The packages were lost, WE ate the loss, RESHIPPED the goods and now its up to PAYPAL to UNLOCK our account. It seems this post is getting out of hand, I am just stating a fact of what happend and you guys are making it into something different. I am not talking a couple of dollars in the locked acount.. try like several thousand dollars... wouldnt you be concerned???

COMPLAINT is: Paypal wont unlock account- NOT the post office loosing stuff! And the clerk did admit to not scanning stuff on the phone and she too said that it was probably in the undeliverable bin SOMEWHERE!

Paypal does have its faults, and congrats to the ones who have never had a problem with them, but we just want this straigtned out is all I'm asking. I am done with this and sorry to have started it! Just stating facts and you guys gotta pick it apart. They have their proof, we have ours so unlock the darn thing and we can forget about it and move on......END OF STORY FOLKS!!!!!!!!!

#6 Consumer Suggestion

Use Delivery Confirmation

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 26, 2006

This sounds a bit fishy. I have sent out over 300 packages as a result of my eBay auctions and not one ever got lost. I send everything by Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. The clerk must scan the Delivery Confirmation bar code at the time of sale.

I see no mention of Delivery Confirmation in this complaint. How exactly did you expect to track your packages? The part about not scanning when they too busy suggests that you were not using delivery confirmation.

Early on I found that the insurance that USPS offers is nearly worthless and there is no tracking on packages with only the basic insurance. Claims requires too many people (shipper, shipper's postmaster, recipient, recipient's postmaster) to do too much work and no two postal employees can agree on the claim procedure so claims do not get processed. Instead, I just charge a couple of extra bucks to go into a fund to cover losses. (My only loss since starting that was due to breakage and I refunded the buyer his money plus his postage cost. Try to get USPS insurance to refund your postage.)

In December the postal service hires a lot of incompetent seasonal help. God only knows where your packages actually went but if five out of five got lost they probably never made it out of the post office where they were mailed.

The bad news is that as the seller/shipper it was your responsibility to get the goods to the buyers so if the five missing packages cannot be found you will have to eat the losses.

Well.. I have my receipts from the post office, had them see if they could find the packages and they came up with the same thing i did- nothing. Also this was right before Christmas and the lady at post office said that when they get realy busy, they dont scan the barcodes..... Go figure.

Packages werent insured either so it was our loss, there were like 5 of them. I find it funny how when you do send a package INSURED with a signature.. it still doesnt come up on the website, cant track it even to this day! The ones lost were sent just parcel post and if paypal really wanted to look, they'd see that they were shipped but I see that they usually side with the customer who didnt receive goods, but we will keep doing what they ask it will get straightened out soon

Robin, a few questions here..

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 26, 2006

Robin,

Did you send the packages by certified mail, AND insured?

I would never send anything from an ebay sale with any less protection than that. I make it mandatory as part of the sale terms and conditions.

Also, in like the past 25 years of sending packages by US Mail, I have never had one lost.

How could they lose multiple packages? Was there a plane crash or a post office fire or something?

I find this a little hard to believe. I think their are some facts missing here.
