I am scared that these people have my information for them to call and harass me in such a way; they are talking about garnishing my wages I am a single mother with no help trying to survive and for them to state this is really bugging me out.

Massachusetts Fair Debt Collection Practices Act Chapter 93: Section 24A. Term of license; bond; registration; rules and regulations Section 24A. (a) No person shall directly or indirectly engage in the commonwealth in the business of a debt collector, or engage in the commonwealth in soliciting the right to collect or receive payment for another of an account, bill or other indebtedness, or advertise for or solicit in print the right to collect or receive payment for another of an account, bill or other indebtedness, without first obtaining from the commissioner a license to carry on the business, nor unless the person or the person for whom he or it may be acting as agent has on file with the state treasurer a good and sufficient bond.

Contact your State Commissioner to see if these people even have filled the appropriate paperwork to collect debts in Massachusetts.  If not, then they are subject to penalties and report them

As for Josey "Wails" - nothing more than an attention seeking, pathetic waste of space.

Hey, Why the derogatory rebuttal? The advice was sound and not critical of OP. I've read your posts for the last couple months and you contribute nothing.

While some of the regulars posts are a little offside and heavy handed, for the most part they hit the mark. You on the other hand just come off as a jack*ss who offers no help or advice.

You calling other people trolls is funny. Hello kettle!

Do not give these debt collectors any account #s . If they threaten you thats a is a violation . If a debt collector threatened to kick down my door. I would tell them this " Go right a head and then you will be greeted with my 9mm and you will be leaving my home in a body bag."

they're a debt collector. Unfortunately they will say about anything to try to get the money.

Do NOT give them your account or debit card number. Any payments you send them should be by money order so they have no way of getting your account information. As far as garnisheing your wages, that can not be done without a court order. Have you been served papers for any court appearances that you haven't attended? If so, they can get a court order. As for suspending your Drivers License, only a government agency can do that. A judge in a debt case will not suspend a person's license.

However I urge you to contact a certified debt counselor. Also if you can, record the calls with these threats because they are over the line and you can take legal action against the company.
