I received a letter in the mail from "Peach Direct". They offered a credit card to buy merchandise from their online catalog. My husband and I thought it sounded like a great idea, so we applied. We got approved and decided to buy a camcorder, and a digital camera. We were so excited, so we decided to go onto the manufactorers website and check out the products we had just ordered from peach direct.

To our suprise, we ended up paying approx. $150.00 more, for each of the items, then they were actually worth. Well, no big deal we thought, because without the company we wouldnt have gotten them at all. They informed us that it would take approx. 2-3 weeks for delivery. After about 3 weeks, we started wondering, so we gave them a call. Our items hadn't even shipped yet.. we were pretty mad, and decided to cancel our order.

When I contacted customer service they apologized for the inconvenience, and gave us $50.00 off our order, if we kept it. So we did. About a week later, the camcorder finally arrived, we were very excited! But, where was the camera? So we called the company, and they said it would take an additional 3-4 weeks for the camera, so we decided to cancel just the camera.. they informed me that we could not do that, and they never even gave us the $50.00 off that we were promised.

My cousin also ordered from this company, a computer. After 3 months of being promised delivery, it never came! They reported to her credit report saying she was in default on paying the balance for a computer she never received! I would NOT recommend ordering from this company unless you want to be RIPPED OFF!

Employees are clearly proud to work there

AUTHOR: Juliet - (U.S.A.)

Oh my, that is so helpful. An anonymous post by an unnamed employee with an EMAIL ADDRESS. That's direct customer service contact, alright. It would only be more credible if it were an email address at one of the free sites, lololol.

I don't even have dealings with this company, and with this kind of a "non-response", I am very glad I don't.

How I avoided thier trap

AUTHOR: Bill - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Thanks to all the information I found here, after my 3 week waiting period was over and still no shipment of my computer, I started calling PeachDirect every day. And every day I got a diffrent story.

First was my call 19 days after I had placed my order. I was told there was nothing that could be done, but to call back once 21 days had passed and they would fill out a 'customer service form' and if I still got no response 3 days after that, then I should call back again and they would give me the phone number of "some higher-up's".

So, I waited until the 21st day and called back and spoke to the same guy. He filled out the form and 2 days later I still had not heard from them.

I decided that was enough, they had over 3 weeks to sell me a computer, they blew thier chance. I called to cancel my order and Candy (thier rep) started talking down to me "Let me tell you how it works, it's 21 BUSINESS days not 21 days" she started. and after she went on, I told her how it was going to work, she was going to cancel my order and credit my GE Money Bank PD card back the full purchase price of the computer, and we were going to go our seperate ways. You could tell she was upset and frustrated by the end of our conversation. They offered me the $50.00 credit to keep my order as well, But when I asked how long it would take to recieve the credit, I was told 1 to 2 billing cycles. I let them know I didn't trust them enough to keep my order with them.

During my conversation with Candy, she told me that it is common for the customer to make thier first payment before recieving thier product. I told her that I was not willing to do business like that.

The next day, my order had not been canceled, so I called the company "To check the status of my order". I was told it was pending shipment and I told them that was funny because I had canceled that order yesterday. This time I spoke to Jennifer, who actually canceled my order. WAY TO GO JENNIFER. I immediately printed out the canceled order from thier web site and now have it on file. When I asked Jennifer how long it would take for the purchase to credit back to my PD credit card, she told me 1 to 2 billing cycles.

I pointed out that that would mean that I will recieve a bill for a computer that I will not have recieved and will not be recieving, so what should I do? dispute the charge on my credit card with GE Money Bank? She said Yes, dispute the charge.

So, off to the GE web site I went. It turns out, that if you look at the back of your billing statement, there is a place to check for "Order canceled" as a billing dispute. I have a complete list of everyone I have spoken with and the dates, as well as my proof that my order was canceled. I will be disputing the charge when the bill comes.

In addition, I have not waited to give them the chance to try to screw me any more. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB stating that they should credit my credit card sooner, since they charged it prior to NEVER sending my shipment (Go figure, the computer I ordered is now "Out of stock"). they should not have charged my card then.

The important thing to remember here is that credit is granted through GE Money Bank, Who gives credit for major stores such as Wal-Mart and Meijer. You have the option of disputing the charge with them. Also, NOT EVERYONE who applies for credit through Peach Direct gets approved, My nephew did not.

I went to Dell's web site, applied for credit, was instantly approved (And I had a bankruptcy about 6 years ago) and built my own computer system. That was on a Sunday night. This morning (Wend.) I woke up and checked my email to find out my computer already shipped and is expected to be delivered tomorrow. I got a much better system with the specific hardware I desired, and payments only $10 more than Peach Direct wanted.

Check them out, If you qualified for Peach, You'll most likely qualify somewhere else. Don't give Peach the chance to screw you. Thanks to everyone for all thier post here. It certainly helped me.
