Pep Boys Hicksville NY Broke ABS sensor and left shock unbolted Hicksville New York

Pep Boys broke the ABS sensor on my 2000 Toyota Camry while replacing the rear shocks.  The ABS light was not on when I brought the car to them but came on when I left.  They checked and said the sensor was failing on the right rear but denied responsibility.

I took it to another mechanic who told me that if the suspension isn't supported when the shocks are replaced the ABS sensor cable will be overstretched and the wires can break inside the insulation.  The other mechanic put the car up on the lift and immediately one of the two nuts on the bolts holding the shock on the other side (left rear) fell off.  We inspected and the other nut was hanging by a single thread.  This was my daughter's car and if I had not checked with the other mechanic the shock would eventually have come off, which could have caused the wheel/suspension assembly to collapse, potentially risking my daughter's life. 

I went back to Pep Boys that same evening; they apologized and said they would fix it the next day when the part came in.  I went back the next day, the day manager put the car on the lift and saw that the sensor line wasn't completely broken off.  He asked the mechanic who worked on my car whether the ABS light was on when it came in; the mechanic lied to my face and said yes, it was. So the manager said "I have to believe what he's telling me" and refused to repair it. 

I have reported these crooks and incompetents to Pep Boys and I am disputing the charge for the shocks.  I'm also telling everyone I know never to bring their cars to these dishonest knucklheads.  the manager's name was Matt and the mechanic's name was Hiu Kong.  Avoid these guys if you don't want to get ripped off.
