Complaint Description:
In October of 2005, I purchased a 3-month membership for dating services. During this 3-month period, I found a match on another service. (which I also indicated to them in the 'why are you leaving PerfectMatch section) A renewal notice was sent to my mailbox. I canceled the service PRIOR to the re-bill date. I canceled the service on December 31, 2005. I have a witness to that as the match that I found was with me at the time. However, my credit card was charged for a year renewal in February of 2006.

I immediately send in a correspondence disputing the charge. I did not get a reply until February 1st, 2006 that stated that I could not cancel since the account was not closed in time. This is interesting as in my only other response to my 13 emails sent to the company and Dr. Schwartz because in the conversation with Colin Thompson, (even though he did not identify himself to me, or what standing he had in the company or that initially he was aware of this situation.) as we witnessed on speakerphone and recorded on our phone system that the account was not canceled until February 6th, 2006.

As clearly shown here, that information conflicts with what the representative stated on record. I have a third witness to the initial communications made with PerfectMatch that has a billing statement that indicated the charges placed on the account. The phone call with Mr. Thompson was entirely unproductive as he kept skirting the issue and continually avoided my question as to whether or not he was presenting a resolution. Finally, after the 3rd attempt to obtain a resolution from him - he just stated that this phone call is over.

My only accepted resolution is to have a FULL refund for the charge put on the card and an apology letter from upper management for the undeniably uncooperative and unproductive Customer Service personnel. I am President and Chairman of my company and do have a retained legal staff. I was not even considering using their services - however, after being treated as I was, after not receiving responses to my communications and after not even being offered a resolution - I am not placing that on my action list.

Your Desired Resolution:
Full Refund Apology Statement from upper management If this is received - I will offer that to the Internet community that I have posted my factual experience with PerfectMatch. (I have found COUNTLESS incidents where PerfectMatch has done this to other individuals.)

This case will be reviewed by a complaint specialist at the Better Business Bureau, and then forwarded to the business for their response. You will be notified when the business has responded.

What would you like to do next?

Most Sincerely,

Rob C

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
