This company is the next shop Tim Ramsey, former owner of d&t golf cars, has opened. He continually took advantage of the elderly at his old shop, over changing them for services not done, not done correctly, or not at all. he would say new parts were installed and charge more than new parts cost when no new parts were used. A cart would come in not needing new batteries and he would tell them they need new battires. he would say he could speed customer carts up take an advance payment . Not speed them up and cash the check. Then wouldn't return calls. He is a con artist. Do not use any of his services or anyone affiliated with him. He even didn't pay an employee who was a veteran. That had to go to the labor board about it. Right before Christmas! What kind of sick b****** has a vet work for him and then doesn't pay him at all right before the holidays? Tim Ramsey will not outrun karma forever. It will catch up to him.

If nothing I said was accurate in my notice. then why would you go through the trouble of having so many responses at the same time? It's clear you are worried about this post because of course no business wants a bad review. And I can't put evidence That would infringe on privacy of others. But this site is simply to inform. You can say your the opposite of what I claim all day but the more you do business, the more people will post so rebuttal all you want. Have fake customers post good reviews. I already posted first a truthful warning that anyone who see's it will think twice. And if they end up using your shop. Fine. but they know going in what to expect now. hope you have changed, but the past will not go unnoticed. Karma will catch up.

Performance Golf Carts - REALLY?

AUTHOR: Tim Ramsey - ()

POSTED: Friday, June 06, 2014

It is true that I used to own D & T Golf Carts in Thousand Palms. I recently closed that small shop because my lease had ended and the new lease called for a rent increase that I simply could not afford. I believe I am an honest business man who will always try to work with my customers if they have a problem with the work done by my business. I shouldn’t even have to respond to the ludicrous allegations posted by Mr/Ms 764011 but, when someone makes these unsupported statements about me personally, and my business, it has the potential of hurting my business and I have to respond.

Have I ever had a complaint from a customer?  Absolutely.  Have I ever taken advantage of any of my customers?  Absolutely not.  I am pretty sure that there isn’t a business that has never had a complaint.  Like most of those businesses, however, I will do everything in my power to rectify such complaints in a fair and timely manner.  As to the specific allegations made in the Mr/Ms 764011 posting, I can only say, in light of the total lack of specifics, that they are simply untrue.  If, Mr/Ms 764011, you do have evidence of ANY of these charges, bring them to me, if you can, and let me address them with the individual directly.

Unfortunately, it is too easy for someone (someone who has a beef with me personally, someone who is passing along nothing but unsupported rumors, or even a competitor trying to discredit my business for his/her own benefit), to hide behind a numbered ID and make unsupported statements when they don’t have to step up to the plate and support those statements with facts that can be substantiated and addressed.

There is, however, one allegation in the Report that I CAN disprove beyond ANY doubt; that is the TOTAL fabrication regarding the “firing of a veteran right before Christmas”. Mr/Ms 764011, or anyone else reading their Report; PLEASE contact the California Labor Board and check it out.  Since, Mr/Ms 764011, you have lied or been misinformed about this FACT, I suggest your credibility regarding your other allegations is, likewise, suspect.  Otherwise, step forward and let’s see what evidence you have of any of these other allegations.

Performance Golf Carts: A different view

AUTHOR: Jim M - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 05, 2014

I am a former (and on-going) customer of Mr. Tim Ramsey, both at his former shop and his current location. I have never found Mr. Ramsey to be guilty of ANY of the practices charged in the Ripoff Report above.  It is interesting to me that the writer of the above report is not relating facts that involved him/her; but rather, alleges that these misdeads were done to others ("elderly, veterans, etc."). This is, at best, hearsay and, at worst, down-right malicious misinformation.

I have purchased batteries from Mr. Ramsey for my own and my wife's golf carts...in both cases NEEDED replacements for weak battereies. I have enough experience with automobile and golf cart mechanics to know when batteries are no longer functioning as they should. I have purchased custome tires and wheels from Mr. Rasey and have had other work done by Mr. Ramsey (including "speeding up my cart") as well. In every case, I paid a reasonable (or even lower) price for these products and services than these purchases would have cost me elsewhere. Yes. I did pay money "up front" when I contracted with Mr. Ramsey to do the "speed up" work on my cart. I believed at the time, and still do believe, that this is normal business practice when parts are special ordered.

Finally, my mother-in-law, a 95 year-old, "elderly" person has been a customer of Mr. Ramsey's for years...mainly dealing with batteries and periodic 'detailing' work. I know the prices charged her were always fair and reasonable and he has even gone by on occasion to check and fill her batteries free-of-charge.  By the way, I believe my wife and I, both in our mid 70s  also fall into the "elderly" category. And we stand behind Mr. Ramsey.  This Ripoff Report was pointed out to me and I felt I needed to post this rebuttle to set the record straight from a PERSONAL EXPERIENCE perspective.

Performance Golf Carts Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Tim Ramsey - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 03, 2014

My name is Tim Ramsey, owner of Performance Golf Carts in Thousand Palms. I am responding to the negative comment posted in “Ripoff Report” by someone with the ID, “764011 Thousand Palms”.

To Mr. or Ms. 764011:

It is true that I used to own D & T Golf Carts in Thousand Palms. I recently closed that small shop because my lease had ended and the new lease called for a rent increase that I simply could not afford. I believe am an honest business man and shouldn’t even have to respond to such ludicrous allegations as this but, when someone puts this kind of unsupported trash out there on the internet, it cannot go uncontested.

Have I ever had a complaint from a customer?  Absolutely.  Have I ever taken advantage of any of my customers?  Absolutely not.  I am pretty sure that there is not a business in operation today that has never had a complaint.  Like most of those other businesses, however, I have done everything in my power to rectify such issues in a fair and timely manner with my customer.  As to the specific allegations made in the Mr/Ms 764011 posting, I can only say they are simply untrue.  If, Mr/Ms 764011, you have evidence of any of these charges, bring them to me and let me address them.

Unfortunately, it is all too easy for someone to hide behind a numbered ID and make  unsupported statements like these when they don’t have to step up to the plate and support them with facts.  As far as the statements regarding the firing of a veteran “right before Christmas” is concerned; that never happened and this is one charge I can disprove by referring Mr/Ms 764011 to the Labor Board for validation. Step forward Mr/Ms 764011 and let’s clear this part up right now.
