I found a company selling maltese puppise. They said they are 200 which included delivery via a Pet Pal Shippers. I sent my money through to them and waited. I was then informed by the shippers company that i needed to pay an urgent insurance fee of 490 of which 475 would be fully refundable after puppy delivered.

This was in no way stated when asked about puppy.I stated that i did not have this type of money and it was outrageous that it was not mentioned before sending the money.

I also contacted the seller and told him the same. He denied all knowledge of this, said he contacted the shippers then appologised. But instead of trying to rectify the problem he told me that he had 200 if i could come up with the other 290.!!

Again i stated that i didnt have that kind of money. My mum said that she would lend it to me, so we contacted the Western Union companyto pay this only to be made aware that where we were sending this money to was not where the company stated it was based.

Yes i was stupid not to realise in the first place but they stated they were based in Kirkwall Scotland and yet the money was being sent to a city called DOUALA in a country called CAMAROON, post code 0023.

They also had a credit card payment facility on their site that when tried to use it stated it was not able to process it.

However a few days later i found that what money i did have on my card, which thankfully is a top up credit card, had been taken. The name on the statement was linked to a pet site.

I did email thie pet company to have this looked into but as of yet they have not replied.

When i did refuse to pay the insurance the shippers were not too happy, i stated that i would come and pick up the puppy myself. The reply i got was when, and that everyday they hold the puppy it would cost me an extra 45.

After that i received an email stating that they could not send the puppy back to the seller as all pappers were now in my name and i was the owner. I was told that i was expected to make the payment that day or the puppy would be sent to the pets abandonment home.

I am gonna look into this further and hopefully try to find these people to stop them doing this to anyone else.

It is so wrong what they are doing and they should be stopped.
