The entire phila. water dept. needs to be shut down because they simply dont know what they are doing. In April 2012 they leave me a message on my door that my meter needs a new battery because they are not able to get a reading, so after the battery was replaced, I receive another letter stating they still can't read my the meter.

So for months I called them to find out when someone was going to come out to figure out what the problem was. During this period I was on the phone with their customer support people who are rude, very unhelpful and ignorant while making you feel as if your stealing water....really.  

Finally when someone shows up I'm lucky because it was on my day off from work, so after letting the service man in I follow him to the basement where he had to get on the floor to see what the problem was (he could barely bend down or get back up and almost fell) So after he wrote down a few numbers he said someone would be intouch with me.

So after a few months I started to call the PWD a few more times to see when someone was actually coming out to fix the problem and again I got the same run round from their customer support who actuall gives out a disconnected number (215 686-8824 and 215 686 8822) both disconnected it's just a shame.  

After several months someone finally comes out to fix the problem, he told me he had to replace the pipe and that the someone from his department had the old pipe on backwards or maybe my handy or contractor did it ....really.

So I wonder how me or my 14 year old did that with all the banging and water he left in my basement.  And after another several months I receive a bill for over two thousand dollars.......what a shame people have to go through this to live in this money grubbing city with a mayor who is just making it bad for homeowners to stay here.
