Hello,
I bought a Philips/Magnavox 42" HDTV in November of '06 for $1800.00. The TV started to show blue dots and lines on the left hand side of the screen in June of '07. I have a one year warranty so I called to have it fixed. After two weeks I finally got someone to come out and look at the TV. I was told that the plasma screen was bad and would need to be replaced.

A month went by with no call from the repair shop. Finally, frustrated I called Philips back and was referred to a consumer relations person who got the approval for a replacement TV. The replacement TV would take 10 to 15 days to get here and is going to be the same model but refurbished. I said that I did not want a refurbished TV and was told that was Philips option and there was nothing I could do about it.

So as I am waiting for this TV to arrive the original TV just shuts off and will not turn back on. So I called Philips and was told that it was my fault for continuing to use the TV. I told them that I did not want the refurbished TV, I want my money back and of course they said no.

Well, my refurbished TV arrived yesterday and with the exception that it turns on, this TV is in worse shape then the one they took out of here. Scratches, broken "P" on the Philips emblem put together incorrectly and the blue dots and lines that were limited to the left side of my first TV now extend to the middle of this TV.

Had service man note problems on documentation and called Philips and was given a number to call for "RAPID REPLACEMENT ". Called that this morning and was told that I have to call the service man back out and start the process all over again.

This is supposed to be a tier one product but the TV is plagued with problems and the customer service is the absolute worst I have ever seen. All I want is my money back. I don't want their product anymore

After this problem started, I did some research on Philips online. I think you would be surprised to see all the horror stories associated with this company. From hundreds upon hundreds of consumers as angry as I am to class action law suits that Philips has lost. They should be ashamed, and I believe that the American public should be aware of this companys attitude toward their own consumers.

Thank you for any help you could give me.
