Please note that this is the Prescott Valley franchise of Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions run by Rick Capito; NOT the major operation which is headquartered in Phoenix and which also has a presence on eBay.

I have a 99 Ford Contour which had a transmission rebuilt two months ago. Including the initial work, the car has been in the shop FOUR (4) times. The initial rebuild (first visit) took approximately 2 weeks to complete. Then, the transmission leaked after their rebuild. After the SECOND visit, (and sitting at the shop for several days before they looked at it) it continued leaking {after supposedly repairing the leak}. When it was taken back to the shop (third trip), they finally noticed the torque converter was bad. Order the torque converter and wait for its arrival (again, more waiting - no sense of urgency with them, here). Torque converter arrives and is installed. THE SAME DAY we get the car out of the shop, the torque converter and transmission seize up. The car had to be dollied back to the shop from 4 hours away. Now, the FOURTH trip to the shop...

It's been THREE (3) weeks now. Who knows how long they let it set in the shop before they even looked at it. This shop has never called to let us know what's going on without us stopping by the shop first. First, the car had to have the transmission and torque converter completely rebuilt - again. Then they had to wait for another part to come in, which according to Rick, NEVER goes bad, but it did in THIS instance. My car should be ready last Friday. Nope. Gotta wait on another part. Will be ready on Monday. Nope. Part's not here. Will be ready on Wednesday. Nope. Part has to be delivered to Phoenix, then trucked up here. Car will be ready Friday. Nope. Stopped by today. WOULD YOU BELIVE THE CAR IS STILL NOT READY? Transmission is supposedly rebuilt and completed, but it's not in the car. I wanted to know why? This guy has over $1600 of my money and he's taking his sweet time while he works on everyone else's cars, still making more money. Supposedly, it will be ready to go on Monday. Yeah, right. STAY AWAY FROM THE PRESCOTT VALLEY BRANCH OF PHOENIX REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS.

Today, Frank (owner of Phoenix Reman Trans) advised the car would be repaired and the warranty would still remain in effect. At 1630, I am at the shop to pick up the vehicle. I passed the car as it was driving out on the road for its test run. Looks like it's working.
