This company, PhoneyID, supposedly offers novelty ID's out of Sweden for $100. When you order, you have a form to fill out with all of your information, a legal disclaimer which states they are not responsible for what you do with the novelty ID, a picture, a money order for $100 (in my case $135 for rush shipping back to me).

Their webpage states that orders usually take about 2 weeks to process after your money order clears which takes about 3 weeks.

I sent my order to them on February 5, 2003 and according to my tracking, they received it on February 10, 2003. My money order was cashed on February 24, 2003.

After sending them numerous emails asking about my order, all I get back from them is a one sentence response saying that they cannot give me any information about my order for "security reasons" and that they can assure me "that everyone who places and order with them receives an order."

Today is April 3, 2003 and I have not received any emails or anything in the mail.

After doing a little research, I found out that the guy who is running PhoneyID.com is the owner of a novelty ID review board and post his own messages to make PhoneyID look like a legit company.

If anyone has had the same thing happen to them, please let me know.

nick, you were ripped off, and you do have the right to complain.

please forgive me for 'jumping to conclusions' as you put it. i do not know you and you hopefully have a valid and/or legal need/want for a novelty id, which yes, are legal. however, if you could see just one of the underage drunks who have gotten killed because they had a good high quality 'novelty id'. i was a doorman at a few busy clubs when i was younger, and some of them are really quite good. i hope you can understand my point, most of these 'novelty, id's are used by underage people to get stuff they can't have. even you quote the website as saying they aren't responsible for what you do with it. now why would they state that? again i apologize. you were ripped off, and you do have the right to complain.

If you would actually read my post instead of jumping to conclusion you would see that I ordered a novelty ID which is legal. If you dont believe me, go down to your local police station a ask them for yourself. Beside the point, I was ripped-off and I am just trying to do what I can to keep this from happening to someone else.

why do you want or need a fake id?

an id is usually a legal document right?
so were you wanting to break the law with it?
i can feel lots of sympathy for a lot of the people on the ROR, but this sounds alot like calling the cops after a prostitute steals your drug stash
