POINT SECURITY LLC. Misleading, untruthful sales, READ FINE PRINT FIRST, Provo, Utah

So James Graham, sales rep for Point Security comes to town and starts peddling home security systems, getting names of friends from each sale he makes. Describes the company as 'new to town', saying that they are looking for a couple of dozen homes to install their systems in, at a greatly reduced rate, of course. The equipment cost is discounted, the monthly service fee is discounted, you know, so they can put their sign in your yard and attract more business.  Oh, and if you don't like your system or don't think you really need it, if you contact us to discontinue service within 30 days of signing up, they'd give all the up-front fees back, and tear up the contract.

So, about 3 weeks into service, I call to have ours disconnected. Now, we can't really tell you whether the equipment or service works good or poorly. We simply do not use the system. It doesn't fit our busy lifestyle. We never could get in the habit of using the system, so we wanted to discontinue the service.

Wait! Upon calling Point Security to cancel, they inform me that no cancellations after 3 days from signing the agreement. And, sure enough, right there in black and white, it says 3 days, NOT 30 days.

So, in conversation with the customer service rep, I inform them that we were sold this system on a 'trial basis' by JAMES GRAHAM, and that he gave us 30 days to discontinue the service. Service rep informs me that the company has NEVER allowed 30 days to decide if you want the system or not.

So then I get a call back from JAMES GRAHAM. He goes on to tell me that NEVER has he offered 30 days trial. Company standard is 3 days. Period. End of story. I go on to tell James, in a very cordial manner, that he indeed is now LYING TO ME. He knew it, I knew it.

Next morning, get another call from JAMES GRAHAM.  James calls to tell me that the previous phone call he had made to tell me that he never offered a 30 day trial had been forced by his Boss, and that the call had to be placed IN FRONT OF HIS BOSS, so that the boss could hear the conversation.  James goes on to say, "OF COURSE I remember giving you a 30 day trial", continuing "I gave everyone in Scott City a 30 day trial" because we the company was new to the area. JAMES GRAHAM goes on to say that he has the ability to change the contract and that we would not have to continue to pay for the service. In fact, James tells me that he has set up an appt with the install guys to come over on Monday morning (the call was on the previous Friday) to have the system removed, and that no more billings would be assessed.

So...Monday morning rolls around...nobody shows or calls to remove the system.

So, now I call his boss, Matt, one of the owner's of POINT SECURITY.  He's fully aware of the situation, knows who I am. Tells me that JAMES GRAHAM has been let go, and that JAMES GRAHAM never was an actual 'employee', but rather was a 'Contractor' working for POINT SECURITY.  Matt in nice enough in the conversation, but says no cancellation-- PERIORD. He didn't care that his employee/contractor sold the system under false pretences, didn't care that his employee/contractor JAMES GRAHAM lied to all kinds of customers (there are many more than myself that this happened to) about the terms of this service.

Long story short: THIS COMPANY SELLS AND/OR ALLOWS SALES OF ITS SERVICE AND PRODUCTS UNDER FALSE PRETENCES, AND USES BLATANT LIES IN ORDER TO GET CUSTOMERS TO TAKE THEIR SERVICE. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY.  THEY IMMEDIATELY SELL THE CONTRACT TO MONITRONICS, WHO MONITORS THE SYSTEM.  I FOUND THE COMPANY TO BE BLATANTLY DISHONEST.
