Viabuy prepaid mastercard.

The prepaid card sells itself as a solution allowing users to rent cars wordlwide. On a recent trip to Italy, I booked a hire car which required a deposit and payment totalling EUR 2,600. Therefore I loaded my Viabuy prepaid mastercard with the same amount.

Three days passed (loading usually occurs same day) and I received an email stating the following:

"Please note that for security reasons the following load of your online account will be held until we have verified the source of your funds. As a regulated financial institution we are obliged to request this information."

EUR 2,600 is a relatively small sum and never have I been asked for proof of funds origin on such small amounts before, until now from any bank anywhere in the world. The email goes onto state:

"

To release your load, we need certified documents for verification of the payment. For example:

  • Sale of goods or services: Invoice, purchase agreement or contract
  • Social care, unemployment or child benefits: Notice of approval
  • Person to person loans: Loan contract and valid government-issued photo ID of the sender
  • Insurance disbursement: Insurance policy for respective dividends or disbursement after cancellation
  • Deposit dividends: Statement of your deposit
  • Succession: Certificate of inheritance for respective payments

Your documents should be certified by a notary, lawyer, bank-employee, tax counsellor or public authority. Please note the following requirements:

  1. Document is clearly marked as "certified copy of original"
  2. Document is stamped
  3. Document is signed by the certifying party
  4. Date of signature, and name and position of the signatory"

I replied stating that the funds sent, were transferred from my own personal bank account and th funds are simply my own wages. I asked, in that case, what should I send them? They refuse to reply.

Four times asked now and they simply copy paste the same list as above. There is no phone support either and they are making it impossible to receive a simple answer. On my last request, I specificically requested of them not to copy paste the list once again for the fourth time, and to simply answer my question. Yet, once again they sent the same list, after 24 hours.

I dont know where to turn now. As Viabuy by PPRO Financial wont reply or even attempt to help, I am left wondering if this was all a scam or if they are deliberately delaying. Surely, if they were an honest company it would be in their interest to allow me to use those funds on my card, insteading of blocking the amount and providing zero assistance to release it.

I am publishing this report to warn others as I have got nowhere with Viabuy's custome services and they are refusing to answer my simple question on how I can access the EUR 2,600 I sent to them.

UNBELIEVABLE! After asking again for the sixth time and informing Viabuy of this report, they just again replied with the same generic copy pasted reply.

It seems impossible to get a reply and I am seriously starting to assume my money has been simply stolen by viabuy prepaid mastercard.
