Premier Booting Services Company booted car in public lot when parking fee was paid; then held car (extortion) until fee was paid (under duress). Miami Florida

I was with my sister in law & we parked in a public parking lot in Coconut Grove FL. We paid the required $6.00 all day  fee via automated parking machine & received a ticket stub that was placed on dashboard on drivers side.

After having a lovely afternoon.we returned to the car ~ 4 hours later & found the car booted (on both front & rear drive'rs tires) with a large orange sticker advising that in order to get the boots removed we would have to pay $89.00 fee & call the number listed.

We immediately called the Miami police dept. because it was as if someone was actually holding us up & not letting us leave until we paid him $89.00. After waiting over an hour; the thief returned to the scene of the crime & released our car to us. We felt extorted & paid under duress in order to get the car released, which it was after paying the fee with a Visa card.
